Story
Mary B. Addison killed a baby. Allegedly. She didn't say much in that first interview with detectives, and the media filled in the only blanks that mattered: a white baby had died while under the care of a churchgoing black woman and her nine-year-old daughter. The public convicted Mary, and the jury made it official. But did she do it?

To everyone in the exclusive town of Bishops Harbor, Connecticut, Daphne - a socialite and philanthropist - and her real-estate mogul husband, Jackson, are a couple straight out of a fairy tale. Amber's envy could eat her alive...if she didn't have a plan.

This 1st part book was super interesting and it kept me wanting more. Then...ugh, Approx 3/4 of the way through - it lost all steam and lost it fast. I lost complete interest, and with an hour left I really debated if I wanted to finish. (I did) anyone else have a similar reaction to this book?
