Story
All Systems Red is the tense first science fiction adventure novella in Martha Wells' series The Murderbot Diaries. For fans of Westworld, Ex Machina, Ann Leckie's Imperial Raadch series, or Iain M. Banks' Culture novels. The main character is a deadly security droid that has bucked its restrictive programming and is balanced between contemplative self-discovery and an idle instinct to kill all humans.

The book had so much potential. It had wonderful characters and a fantastic idea. But the authors use of profanity was so unnecessary. The mark of a great author is being able to express frustration, anger, and pain without reverting to F-Bombs every single time.

Story
Minalan gave up a promising career as a professional warmage to live the quiet life of a village spellmonger in the remote mountain valley of Boval. It was a peaceful, beautiful little fief, far from the dangerous feudal petty squabbles of the Five Duchies, on the world of Callidore. There were cows. Lots of cows. And cheese. For six months things went well: He found a quaint little shop, he befriended the local lord, the village folk loved him, he found a sharp young apprentice to help out, and, best yet, he met a comely young widow with the prettiest eyes.

Perfect, except for the pervert

I SOOOOOOO wanted to love this book. The character development was wonderful. The narration was great. The story was shaping up nicely. But the perversion of the author was just too weird. Weird to the point that I think he was kind of living his pervy dreams through the main character. I tried to make it through all of the "heaving breasts" "spread legs" etc etc. But then when the main character had a 3-some with a 15 and 17 year old set of sisters, I had to quit. Who writes that?! 15 and 17 year old sisters being forced, by their father, into a 3-some with the 40 yr old main character who actually paid for it!! I realize it happens in this awful world we live in. And I realize there are books about that type of stuff. But I was looking for an epic adventure book, not an epic slut novel.
