Story
In a future where homelessness is an illegal status, and those living on the streets are registered into "Sponsorship" programs, crime and abuse runs rampant. Keegan Smith rejects the idea of the system, but finds himself inheriting one of the largest Sponsorship programs in the nation from his late father. When he finds an illegal fighting ring linked to sex trafficking and other atrocities within his own corporation, he is trapped between protecting his family and buying in, and adhering to his own morals by fighting back.

Gritty and unflinching!

Stockton weaves a tale that grabs you and drags you along whether you want to go with it or not, much like one of the characters in this book. She paints a picture of a future that is all too plausible, and while it’s horrifying, it is absolutely beautiful. Highly recommend!

Story
A Gift of Death is on tour. The three band members, Sarin, Vee-Exx, and Arsenic, travel the country playing their dark brand of music for screaming fans. Their violent lyrics and goth style draw people to them. But something else is drawing people to the mysterious trio...something sinister. Cameron Snyder is an outcast. His love of death metal and extreme horror and his home life have left him on the fringes of high school society. When a prank goes too far, Cameron decides he's had enough. He knows his life is not worth living, but can there be salvation?

A splatter-filled romp

Daniel Volpe has made a name for himself within the realm of extreme/spatterpunk horror. This book, might possibly be his best work.
Volpe’s vampire tale is not for the faint of heart, but is recommended to everyone that is looking for a book that holds a ferocious bite. High, high recommend!

Story
The absentmindedness. The nonsensical ramblings. The blank stares. Ward Ayers, physically disabled and confined to his Jersey Shore home, can only watch in dismay as his beloved wife Malina slips further and further into dementia. But when Ward catches a glimpse of a strange appendage in place of Malina’s tongue, he fears the woman he’s loved for half a century isn’t succumbing to Alzheimer’s but transforming into something...not quite human.

Josh crafts a tightly written, well-rounded story that sucks you in immediately. He makes you feel sympathy and empathy for the characters as we see their day to day lives with assisted living.
He ratchets up the tension and slowly starts doling out the clues almost immediately. This was a quick read and I would recommend this to anyone looking for a story that is both heart-warming and thrilling.

I had a blast listening to this one! Bercy has crafted a highly entertaining story that flows really well! When I thought one thing was going to happen, he surprised me by doing something else a couple of times in this story. I look forward to checking out more of his work as he releases them!

Story
It was alive, confused, and pissed! It could not understand why it was violently separated from its host and left to rot. Following an undeniable call to pursue the one who abandoned it and seek revenge, the quest for retribution had begun, and nothing or no one would stand in the way.

Not for the squeamish
Reviewed: 04-15-21
I heard about this story through the Written in Red podcast. The author is one of the hosts. I gave this a listen and found it to be quite entertaining and very squirm inducing. Rowland Bercy has a way of telling the story naturally. The narrator did a great job as well as the sound designer, adding bits of background music and sounds that add to the experience. This is a nasty story that for what type of story it is, has a rather nice ending. Definitely recommend!

I enjoyed A Life to Waste. This is the work of Lennon’s I have had the pleasure of reading but I definitely look forwards to checking out more of his writing. He definitely had me invested and hooked, hating this main character but ultimately ending up loving the turn around.
I will say, the audio performance was a bit off for me. It is good but I feel like I would have enjoyed this story more if I were reading the book myself. Either way, I highly recommend this story!

For Craig, the trip to the cabin was supposed to be a quiet retreat from his hectic city life where he could concentrate on writing his latest novel. For his wife, Susan, and his two kids, Jamie and Ava, it was supposed to be a weekend vacation. For all of them, it became a nightmare.
