You don't need to be British to enjoy it, but it helps. Also, fifteen word minimum.

Jamie and Zee do an excellent job of bringing history to life, especially from a ground-level perspective of figuring out the social pressures shaping the societies discussed. A lot of time and effort clearly went into parsing sources and reading between the lines.

I also recommend the members feed. It's cheap and the amount of content is enormous at this point.

Mike Duncan is one of the first names in podcasting. He, along with Dan Carlin, set many of the standards for history podcast. You won't find anyone who doesn't know his name in the podcasting world.

A genuinely funny and well-put-together podcast that goes into detail about some of the worst human beings in history. Robert Evans is an excellent host with impressive bonafides when it comes to being able to talk about the horrors humans can inflict on each other, and some of his guests (like the illimitable Prop G) are also excellent human beings in their own right.

Also, Robert's coverage of the 2020 summer protests got me involved doing community work of my own. The perfect anodyne to the sense of powerlessness and dread the world can inflict on you is loving your fellow human beings, and that's the best lesson I got from this show.

And if it need be said, it would not happen without Sophie Lichterman, who deserves a ton of credit for masterfully herding cats.
