FANTASTIC BOOK
Reviewed: 05-17-23
This book is really good! The trauma revealed and addressed in this read is so real...I love that Trayce had a therapist, and was able to face her demons and expose her abuser! I want another book to tell about the future happenings of Janet/ Gerald, Trayce/ Solomon and Karim/ol girl he called....

Story
Alibi Island is a legendary paradise hidden away deep in international waters. The only law is money. You’ve got to pay to play, but it’s all fair game if you’re rich enough. It's a lucrative business. What happens on the island stays on the island. That’s the promise. But it is a lie. Everything that happens is recorded. All of that footage becomes blackmail material down the line, as the island's secret power brokers look to cement their stranglehold on power. And when a senator’s daughter’s disappearance is linked to the island, all of its darkest secrets are at risk.

Story
In the hood, a snitch is the worst thing a person can possibly be. Rolling over on your best friend, who has been with you through thick and thin, hungry and full, freedom and state bids - that’s “the cruelest lie told in silence”. While Jovan experiences the fruits of the hustle during his partner’s first stint, Bilal humbly does his time like a true soldier, taking a manslaughter charge for his one true friend. When these two are finally reunited on the streets, a chain of events lands them both behind bars facing multiple charges.

I enjoyed the story and main character!
The narrator made it hard to listen! Hence ZERO stars for performance! The narrator has a decent enough voice but butchered the reading. At one point he had a slight episode and repeated himself in frustration....I think he got on his own nerves!
I've never heard anyone refer to a .357 Magnum as a "point 357" lol.
