Story
Evelyn McTavish’s world came crashing down with the suicide of her fiancé. As she struggles to put her life back together and make a living from her art, she receives a call that her dog is about to be destroyed at the pound. Except she doesn’t own a dog. The shelter is adamant that the microchip embedded in the canine with her name and address makes it hers. Evelyn recognizes the dog as one owned by archaeologist John Coyote - she was commissioned to draw the two of them. The simple solution is to return the dog to his owner - but she arrives to discover John’s murdered body.

I look forward to the next book in the series. This one for certain had you on your toes and grabbed your attention. I loved how the scriptures were brought forward in the way that no matter how or what the situation was God always had a way of providing the protection we needed.

Story
As a woman in today’s world, you know what it’s like to feel pressure on all sides from clashing cultural expectations. How can you stay true to who God has uniquely created you to be in the face of the script you’ve been given? What’s more, how can you stand your ground with grace? The classy confidence you know and love - whether it’s on set at Full House or Fuller House, Dancing with the Stars, The View, or Candace’s Hallmark films - is no act. But it hasn’t come easy. In fact, learning to stay true to herself with grace has been one of the biggest fights of Candace’s life.

This was a captivating story. I was hanging onto the word for the next and the next. Then when there was mentioned the Gulf War - that put me back when we were stationed in the military and my husband was called to duty. The hardships and memories of where I was and he when things were happening. I will read this one again and look for more titles by Ashley Clark.
