Story
One blustery night in 1928, a whale washes up on the shores of the English Channel. By law, it belongs to the King, but twelve-year-old orphan Cristabel Seagrave has other plans. She and the rest of the household—her sister, Flossie; her brother, Digby, long-awaited heir to Chilcombe manor; Maudie Kitcat, kitchen maid; Taras, visiting artist—build a theatre from the beast’s skeletal rib cage. Within the Whalebone Theatre, Cristabel can escape her feckless stepparents and brisk governesses, and her imagination comes to life.

BORING....

This book is too long and it's boring. It was grueling to get through. I purchased this because of Jenna Bush Hager and Queen Camilla both chose it for the book of the month. Lessoned learned.

First, I did not like the narration. The woman's voice was so annoying. The plot line was just ok. This book could have had a lot of potential. But the characters were all unlikable. However, it was an unusual book with an unusual ending..

Story
I’ve been in this life for fifty years, been trying to work out its riddle for forty-two, and been keeping diaries of clues to that riddle for the last thirty-five. Notes about successes and failures, joys and sorrows, things that made me marvel, and things that made me laugh out loud. How to be fair. How to have less stress. How to have fun. How to hurt people less. How to get hurt less. How to be a good man. How to have meaning in life. How to be more me. Recently, I worked up the courage to sit down with those diaries.

It would have be a much better book, if Mr. McConaughey could use more creative language than using the F**K word a million times. So low class, I expected much better. I had looked forward to listening, but couldn't get through it. I had to return it.

Story
The hardscrabble folks of Troublesome Creek have to scrap for everything - everything except books, that is. Thanks to Roosevelt's Kentucky Pack Horse Library Project, Troublesome's got its very own traveling librarian, Cussy Mary Carter. Cussy's not only a book woman, however, she's also the last of her kind, her skin a shade of blue unlike most anyone else. Not everyone is keen on Cussy's family or the Library Project, and a Blue is often blamed for any whiff of trouble.

This was an interesting book in that I had never heard of the "blue people" or the mule pack librarians. I thought it was well written and the narrator does a good job with the accents and language.

Story
When beautiful, reckless Southern belle Zelda Sayre meets F. Scott Fitzgerald at a country club dance in 1918, she is seventeen years old and he is a young army lieutenant stationed in Alabama. Before long, the "ungettable" Zelda has fallen for him despite his unsuitability: Scott isn't wealthy or prominent or even a Southerner, and keeps insisting, absurdly, that his writing will bring him both fortune and fame. Her father is deeply unimpressed.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes, I already have. It's an interesting story based on Zelda Fitzgerald. I have watched the mini-series which was good, but the book is even better.
Any additional comments?
The narrator did an excellent job! I would purchase more books based solely if Jenna Lamia was narrating.
