Story
Could you survive a week in a haunted house? Mara is the daughter of spiritualists. Her childhood was filled with seances, scam mediums and talk of ghostly presences. When Mara finally left her family's home, she vowed she would never allow superstition or false religion into her life again. Now she's ready to start over with her fiance, Neil, in a world based on rationality and facts. But her past isn't ready to let her go just yet.

this was a great book

Where does The Haunting of Blackwood House rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
Because I love listening to paranormal audiobooks, this ranks very high.
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Haunting of Blackwood House?
I think it was when she realised that it wasn't the axe murderer doing the haunting, but her great great grandfather.
Have you listened to any of Piper Goodeve’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
No, but I've just ordered two more.
If you could rename The Haunting of Blackwood House, what would you call it?
I think the name is great.
Any additional comments?
I couldn't stop listening. Normally I take my time listening to books and only listen for an hour or so. This book kept me enthralled and I carried it around with me everywhere.

what a great listen
Reviewed: 06-02-13
Would you consider the audio edition of The Storyteller to be better than the print version?
can't answer this because I haven't read it - only listened to it.
What did you like best about this story?
The story kept me enraptured for the full time. I kept waiting until I could listen to the next part.
What does the narrators bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
It was narrated beautifully. What a pleasure to listen to different voices for the different characters instead of just one narrator moderating his/her voice.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
No - it is meant to be listened to slowly so that you can enjoy it more.

Story
The Perry family's new house is perfect - except for the weird behavior of the neighbors, and that odd smell coming from a dark corner in the basement. Pity no one warned the family about the house. Now it's too late. Because the darkness at the bottom of the basement stairs is rising.

What did you love best about The Haunted?
Bentley Little has written a story that keeps your interest. The suspense is dark and constant, and doesn't let up for the entire story. I will certainly listen to more of his stories.

We listen to audiobooks while travelling in our car. We live in a country town and travel to the city quite often. This is a five hour trip. We hope in our car and turn on the CD player and listen to our current story. Without Fail has been one of the best books we have listened to. Lee Child has woven a great story which both my husband and I listen to intently. Great work.

Story
Lee Child's latest stomach-churning, damp-palms thriller turns back the clock to Jack Reacher's Army days. For the first time, we meet a young Reacher, still comfortable on the inside, with a family, imposing Army discipline. The Berlin Wall is coming down. The Cold War is ending. Soon America won't have any enemies left. Jack Reacher is the military police duty officer on a base in North Carolina when he takes a call reporting the death of a two-star general who should have been in Europe.
