Worst Historical Romance to Date

Could not finish, gave up at chapter 7. Completely unbelievable, and aside from throwing in a “aye”, “nay” or “my lady” every so often in deference to the time period, the characters behave in ways that I’ve never encountered in any other historical romance. It would have had more success with the same story line but set on a pre industrialized planet. Overall ridiculous.

Narrator sounds like a computer or an AI program reading the story. Couldn’t listen beyond chapter 5.

Kept going through to chapter 13 and had to stop. The narrator sounds like a computer reading the story or an AI and it’s not good.

It’s too bad because the story is good. Can’t understand why authors put so much effort into writing a novel and seemingly little care into choosing audiobook narrators for their creations.

Enjoyed the story and am now listening to the second book in series. Will follow this narrator as he made the story come alive.

Constantly wondered what the author was thinking re friendships, relationships and sex.

So bad. The conversations / relationships between characters are cringe worthy, unbelievable and pedantic. Instead of developing the story, the author regurgitates basic info.

After finishing the 'He Who Fights With Monsters' series by Shirtaloon, narrated by Heath Miller, I tried, unsuccessfully, to find another quality litrpg. I ended up searching Heath Miller and found 'Armor' and could not be happier with my purchase. Excellent story and Mr. Miller sets a benchmark for audiobook narration. If only his performances were the norm for narrators..

Classic story spoken MASTERFULLY! This is a must listen. Josephine Bailey's performance had me listening to the end without stopping, allowing an overdone (movies etc) tale to become fresh and new again.

Gabrielle de Cuir voices the main character (woman) like a petulant teenager with emphysema. The only character voice that I enjoyed by her was the grandmother.

Stefan Rudnicki does an amazing job, as usual, I wish that he had been the only narrator because I did not enjoy Gabrielle de Cuir and she put me off entirely.

Story very good.

Storyline was good, narrator excellent however author needed help. Eg, "in his arm" repeated no less than 4 times in 3 sentences, the reduncy mind numbing. It occurs again and again and again. I couldn't get past it and finally tapped out.

Really liked the story -I'll get it in book form- however the narrator made it impossible to continue. She voices the main female character like the original Captain James T. Kirk. -William Shatner and he still gets ripped for it.
