Story
Thanks to environmental pollutants, iodine deficiency has become a worldwide epidemic. Everybody knows pollutants cause cancer. What they don't know is that these pollutants cause a deficiency that can make us sick, fat, and stupid. Iodized salt - supposedly a solution to iodine deficiency - is actually a nutritional scam that provides a false sense of security. The Iodine Crisis explains how we became so deficient, then shows the time-tested solution to reversing many conditions.

I have never heard this before, and i'm so glad that I listened to this book!

This is a must read for any physician that has interaction with clients. As well, if anyone wants to live the longest and healthiest life possible, this is also a must read - most especially if you are a woman!
My only criticism is that there is a great deal of repetition of content. I assume that the author realized that her book would be cut into pieces and sent off to various individuals whose physical challenges are represented it in that particular chapter. While the book could have been half its length, I think it valuable to hear various portions of the content again because it is so important.
I have already forwarded this book to at least five friends in just the last few days.

Story
It was 1970 in a defeated Rhode Island fishing town. Vietnam and Nixon dominated the national news. Both the near and distant future looked bleak. But they were five inseparable high school friends with something incredible in common: an unwavering resolve to look after each other no matter what hell life threw at them. And they were on a mission. The plan was simple: Go off the grid before they turned 18 to avoid the draft. They’d sell some grass, stack some cash, then head west and start a commune. What could possibly go wrong?

I could read this book again and again without tiring of it

The insights of an actual shepherd into the life and habits of sheep is very interesting. But it is the uncanny similarity we as willful, stubborn, selfish humanity demonstrate to those same creatures that is remarkable. And, as easily lost and defenseless as sheep are, so am I without my loving, wise, tender-hearted and resourceful Shepherd - my Lord Jesus.
An incredible book and one to be read often, and especially in times of duress, loss and sorrow.

A Quick Read & Diversion
Reviewed: 07-01-24
Predictable but with some humor that made me chuckle several times. There was the introduction of some technology that is cutting edge with our times today, which elevated the storyline a little bit. The sister seemed very forced and could really benefit from some therapy. To me, it was nothing to rave about, but it was a good diversion for a couple of hours.

I am no longer a Brad Thor virgin, and enjoyed the writing style so much I bought two more in the series right away!
Faced with a 5+ hour drive solo I thought, "How can I keep my mind engaged?" Holy cow ... did this do the trick!
I listened at 1.5 which kept it moving but still easily able to catch what was going on in the plot.
Thoroughly delightful and interesting in the level of detail ... so highly recommend for anyone wanting a "white knuckle - prevent world-wide catastrophe by some really bad people" adventure!

I enjoyed this book enormously! Deans personal story is captivating. Moreover, his success is inspiring and especially considering the many excuses he could have used given his personal challenges growing up and internal "wiring."
Challenging, uplifting, practical, written with humility, a distillation of great advice for success from his experiences and that of other giants who have come before.
Great book to read ... and reread often!
