Story
Academy Award-winner Mercedes McCambridge stars as Martha Ellis Bryant, an experienced lawyer in private practice who has accepted the "challenge of defending the defenseless." Howard Culver plays her loving boyfriend, Jud Barnes, a reporter for the City Dispatch. In search of justice (and a good story), the two work both independently and together, checking records, talking to witnesses, and exchanging information with the police.

Great performance and a very good storyline. I enjoyed this recording very much. If ever there are more to be found I hope they get them to Audible.

Another professionally produced radio show.

Another professionally produced radio show.
Reviewed: 07-26-23
The quality of these radio performances far surpasses those of the “Golden Age” of radio. Fans of radio theater always look to find more contemporary productions of the detective and mystery genre. Jim French and company have mastered the art. Now, that Jim and Pat have passed, it is good to know the company still exists and is putting out these shows for more to enjoy. From Sherlock Holmes to Harry Nile, I’m glad to see the tradition continues.

Story
From the imaginative radio mind of writer/producer Jim French comes the tough-but-thoughtful private eye who roams the rain-swept streets of the Pacific Coast in search of crime, adventure, and enough dough to keep the office lights on for another month - Harry Nile! It's modern radio drama produced in the classic style, with stories set in the golden age of private-eye drama. Phil Harper stars as Harry in high-powered, hard-luck radio adventures! The 21 episodes featured here include the last show of the character's 1970s run, and the first 20 episodes of his glorious return in 1990.
