Very interesting glimpse into Ron and Clint Howard’s experience growing up as child stars. Told by the same, and an introduction by Ron’s daughter Bryce.
Not something you would want to read over again, but a nice and pleasant biography on their careers in show business.

I lost my husband in September 2019. A friend of mine suggested this book. I am so glad they did. It has helped me tremendously. It is something I already know but needed someone to put it all together in a framework that I could do while still grieving. The concepts here are wonderful and clearly imagined, described, and thoughtfully shared. Highly recommend to those with recent loss or those suffering from the effects of loss from a long time ago. I feel more complete and able to return to the life I was meant to live.

Becoming Educated

Becoming educated never seemed to be this hard before. What a memoir. It takes not only education but great courage. I enjoyed the book, on referral from a good friend who also enjoyed the book. It is not a book to be read in one sitting. There is too much there to think about and overcome. Especially if you are a victim of domestic abuse, or suffered trauma in your life. I had to take the abusive parts slowly to digest them and shore up myself for the next, and never ceasing, relentless, acts of emotional and verbal and sometimes physical abuse this author portrays in detailed prose. The end is more comforting to read than most of the book. The strength and understanding one finally comes to develop and overcome, is inspired. I would recommend this book to others, as it is a memoir and the story certainly carries you to into a life that is both foreign and intriguing. For that alone, is always an interesting proposition to me.

First, I am a fan of Ruth Ware novels. With that said, I find this book a great listen and Imogen Church is a perfect fit for the story reading. She has read for other Ware novels, and I love her accent and the ease she portrays in reading the novel brings the characters to life. We begin by being introduced to the main character who is in dire straits, and finds herself a possible person of an inheritance that she believes may not be hers in the first place. There must be some mistake. But she decides to go and see what happens if she 'impersonates' the person who is named in the inheritance, and will work to her favor? Can she get away with it? The story unfolds in a way that is so entertaining and suspenseful. The way Ruth Ware takes you on this journey is sometimes unbelievable, and I scored it, removing one star as I felt she missed a plot point she introduces early in the novel, but never revisits in the end of the story. Overall, the story is wonderful, the performance is spot on, and just another great novel by Ruth Ware. Highly recommended.

I started getting bored with the main characters 'issues' with agoraphobia, but then the story twists and turns, and just doesnt stop, but in a good way! I was hooked. Give the book a chance, even if you get a little bored with the main character. It really does take you on a psychological rollercoaster! I really liked it and would recommend it to others.

I loved this book, and ended up buying the hard copy. I shared it with others. I loved that this book is based on true and real life events. The beginning was a little difficult to follow as it bounces back and forth from present day, to the past. I highly recommend the book. It is one of those few books that really delivers an emotional wallop that had me crying... I cant recommend this book more!

I was less then entertained, and had a hard time remaining focused on this story. It had its moments. the classic Elizabeth Berg stop you in your tracks writing and makes you think moments. But overall, I was not drawn into the story and was not finding the art in reading or mending.

What made the experience of listening to The Lying Game the most enjoyable?

I love this writer. Just when you think you're safe, she puts in another spin and surprise... always leaving you wanting more !!

Who was your favorite character and why?

The four women portrayed each had lovable and recognizable flaws and qualities that entertain, and add depth to the story.

Which character – as performed by Imogen Church – was your favorite?

I loved all the characters for reasons mentioned.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

The lying game is a game of rules... who will break the most serious rule of all...

Any additional comments?

I highly recommend this book, for anyone who enjoyed her earlier works, "In a Dark, Dark Wood" and "The Girl in Cabin 10". I cannot wait for her next novel.
