Story
Chemist Elizabeth Zott is not your average woman. In fact, Elizabeth Zott would be the first to point out that there is no such thing as an average woman. But it’s the early 1960s and her all-male team at Hastings Research Institute takes a very unscientific view of equality. Except for one: Calvin Evans; the lonely, brilliant, Nobel–prize nominated grudge-holder who falls in love with—of all things—her mind. True chemistry results.

Female lead a bit too clueless

For such an intelligent computer geek, she is just too much…simpering, clueless, etc. came close but didn’t finish this one.

There is no escaping. Despite a floundering marriage, Megan O’Casey and her husband Finn still make good music together. Which is why they head to Salem, Massachusetts, Megan’s hometown - booked to perform a weeklong series of concerts culminating on Halloween. But as soon as they arrive, Finn seems different - sensual beyond belief one moment; cold and ruthless the next. The locals - even Megan’s relatives - regard him strangely, with a distrust bordering on hatred.

I like most of her books but just couldn’t get into this one. It was like an hours long lead in to…what? Quit and returned it with several hours left.

Disappointed
Reviewed: 05-07-23
Story was not as good as some in the series, but completely agree with others…change in narrators not good at all. By this time in the series I’m used to the voices for each character, and although making a narration change is likely challenging, this was not a good choice at all. Especially the male characters…and why did Ian suddenly get a British accent. Not a good change at all.
