This book explains so much and bridges so many gaps between A Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes and the original Hunger Games series! I loved it! We definitely understand Haymitch so much better now!

Amazing Chemistry
Reviewed: 11-23-23
I don’t know how I didn’t review this book right after I finished it but it was so good. I wasn’t sure how I was going to feel about Trevor in this book after some of the ways he was with Malone in the last, but I actually think this one was my favorite of the series. Trevor and Wade had to go through some stuff both together and separately, but together they were stronger than their adversities and they did what needed to be done despite what the media/their jobs said was right. Also, Wade being a terrific father and Trevor not shying away from Wade’s son and actually being there for him was icing on the cake. The shared trust it took for them both to come together and eventually become a family was amazing! And Malone getting his just desserts was epic! I wholeheartedly loved this book and the audio was so good! James Edward Jones does such a fantastic job with these guys that I can’t wait for the next audio to come out immediately after finishing this one! I adore his narrations for this series!

Kelly O’Shea has been in love with Anders since he was 15. He’s been hiding the fact that he’s gay for just as long. He loves his family, but their overprotective meddling is what made him move halfway across the country and hide who he was. Although Kelly and Anders both agreed it would stay casual, Kelly begins to hope that maybe they’ll eventually be more than just friends with benefits.

Hockey Love with All the Feels!
Reviewed: 08-11-23
This book was phenomenal. I know Brigham was worried about this book, about how people would feel about Kelly and Anders but she has absolutely nothing to worry about! Best friend’s brother/brother’s best friend with a second chance at love feel to it is a weakness of mine and I adored every second with these two.
Kelly has been half in love with Anders since he was fifteen and his brother brought him home. Anders was never interested in Kelly like that and soon met and married the love of his life, Astrid and they had a precious baby girl named Elia. Tragedy struck and Anders lost his wife and baby girl in a horrible car accident. This information was revealed in a previous book. Kelly was there for Anders through it all. He never pushed for anything other than friendship because that’s all he thought he could ever have with Anders, until Anders casually stepped out of the closet as bi.
The roller coaster of events that happens after this and the budding relationship between these two is so incredible to watch unfold. Kelly wants nothing more than for Anders to be happy and healthy and is enjoying the new physical side to their friendship. Anders has a lot of soul searching to do and a lot of guilt related to his feelings for Kelly.
Along with some more team drama centered around Jack Malone, there is a playoff hockey series to win and some incredible chemistry that explodes off the pages. Brigham sure knows how to pull on a girl’s heartstrings and I spent a good chunk of the end of the book in tears, but in the best way possible and man can she write an ending that makes you smile with so much love.
I highly, highly recommend this one (along with the whole series because who doesn’t love some sexy hockey boys??
The narration is very, very good, my only complaint is that Kelly’s accent isn’t always consistent, he’s from Boston and so he should always have the accent, and sometimes JEJ starts talking as Kelly and there’s no accent at first and it takes me a second to realize it’s actually Kelly and not Lindy talking! Also I feel like Lindy had a slight/light Swedish accent in the other audios that was lacking in this one but that’s minor and did not stop my enjoyment of this amazing book!! Can’t wait for Trevor and Wade’s audio to be out!!

Rollercoaster Romance
Reviewed: 06-15-23
I read this in ebook form when it first came out, this was my review:
Garrett Leigh has a knack of ripping your heart out of your chest, stomping on it to the point you don’t know if you can recover, then putting it back together in the best way possible. Harry and Joe didn’t know it, but they were meant to be together and the roller coaster ride they go on to get there is angsty and phenomenal and perfect for them. I love how there are always connections to other stories and we always get to revisit certain characters from another story! I can’t wait for Rhys and Jevon’s story but for now, I just want to revel in Harry and Joe for awhile!
As with my last few reviews of these audios, the narration is getting easier to handle, You have to speed it up to 1.15x for it to be easier to listen to but it works and it’s much better that way! I still love these books and still highly recommend them!

Holy Explosive Chemistry!
Reviewed: 06-10-23
I read this book for the first time in 2020, this was my review:
Jude and Isha’s story is one I think I needed right now. Seeing Isha work through his needs, not only physically but emotionally too, and Jude finally getting what he deserves even though he never thought he would is something epic. I love the bond Isha’s kids develop with Jude and the way it works out for them all and lastly, holy moly the sex is explosive and about as hot as it can get! The connection and chemistry is off the chart amazing and I might be in a book hangover right now! Yikes! Sooooo good!
Shaun Grindell is growing on me, I still set the speed to 1.15 to help with the pacing issues but the performance in this one was much better! I actually enjoyed the narration, although I 100% would rather hear Dan Calley narrate Garrett’s books!
Still a great series that I highly recommend!

Story
Dominic Ramos is a Premiership football player with a secret. There are no trophies for being gay in his game. Locked into his rep as the meanest defender on the pitch, keeping his secret is soul-crushing, but love has no place in his sport, even if his soft heart craves it. Lucky Coleman is on his knees when he meets a man with more money than sense. It's a Grindr hook-up for cash, not a love match, but dreaming of his desperate, kind eyes earns a place amongst his numerous bad habits.

Wonderful to Revisit
Reviewed: 06-07-23
I read this for the first time back in 2018… this is my review from then:
It’s really hard for me to say that I have certain favorite by Garrett because all of her books grab your attention immediately and hold onto it for dear life until the end of the book, but with Dom and Lucky I just couldn’t fathom putting them down. Their story was just so gripping and angsty and as per usual for Garrett, she made me cry a dozen times and my heart was literally in pain because of the turmoil Dom was going through and how it ended up affecting Lucky. There was something about Lucky that I can’t put my finger on but he might be my favorite GL character and this book may easily top the list of my GL list! I’m so glad the story focused more on their relationship and the build up than what would be going on behind the scenes with the club and the extra stuff with Dom coming out and all that. I got so engulfed that there was a moment when I was like omg their in love, when did that happen? It’s so subtle that it just kinda sneaks up and bites you. Five huge stars for me! Definitely wouldn’t mind more from this world!!!!
As for the narrator, he’s not the best and this audio won’t be for everyone. Garrett had no say in the narrator and I saw someone else suggest setting the reading speed to like 1.2 or close and that helped a lot. Shaun Grindell has a weird speaking cadence and emphasizes things in a way I’m not sure why it happens like that, but I don’t regret revisiting these characters, and it won’t stop me from listening to the next audios!

Beautifully Broken Boys
Reviewed: 06-05-23
I knew going in that this book was going to break me, and it delivered on the painstakingly beautiful broken souls recovering from an ordeal so horrible that it left shells of the men they used to be behind. Personally, I was looking for something that would break me and help me figure out how to put myself back together right along with the characters and Garrett Leigh has yet to let me down! I read along as Craig Beck narrated this story via audible narration and once again his narration and emotion really brought these boys to life for me. I recommend the audio just as whole heartedly as I recommend the entire story!

Amazing book! Fantastic Narration!
Reviewed: 05-18-23
This book was fabulous! Michael Dean is one of my favorite narrators and I think he did a fabulous job with this book! I loved his voices for Nine and Coop, and I listen to this one often!
Coop and Nine were both incredibly interesting characters in such extremely different ways. Nine is the dependable one that everyone knows they can count on without ever really thinking about what Nine needs. In fact his name is Issac and his family calls him Nine because he’s the 9th out of 10 kids. He feels like he’s nothing special and no one would really notice if he was gone.
Cooper on the other hand is Nine’s brother Eli’s best friend. When an opportunity comes up that will work in favor of both men, they start a fake relationship as they traipse out to the middle of nowhere to renovate a cabin and film it. Each of the men have strengths and weaknesses and they slowly begin to fall for each other. Throw in some family drama and a slight hero complex and you’ve got yourself a fresh take on some of my absolute favorite tropes!
Age gap, best friend’s brother, fake relationship, opposites attract and bisexual awakening (or whatever he decides to label himself with) all thrown together in a hilarious and super cute story that also has some anxiety and heart hurting moments. I absolutely adored this book and would definitely read more of these boys or a full story for Jacks and Marchie!!
5 huge stars for me!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Sweet Bi-Awakening Love
Reviewed: 05-13-23
Jamie and Taylor had a lot of hurdles to overcome. This is the story of sweet, single dad Jamie Walsh who is a member of the Evanston River Otters and sexy, figure skater Taylor Hollis who is hired to help with a social media campaign to make the Otters look good after the scandal of Coach Tate and Gabriel in the last book. There’s a lot for these two former ’sort-of enemies’ to unpack and Jamie’s daughter Ava plays a huge part of the story. While the actual love story doesn’t revolve around Ava as much, she is an integral part of it and I love when kids are written well into a story. I can’t wait for the world to get this book because there is so much to love about it. It’s sweet, definitely sexy, and there are several mushy ‘awwwwwwwww’ moments along with some angsty sad stuff but I love the determined way Jamie sets his mind to making sure he doesn’t treat Taylor badly and the resulting love between them is so gooey that I love it!
James Edward Jones does a great job narrating this story and I really enjoyed his performance.

Redemption and Love
Reviewed: 05-09-23
Man I thought I was in love with La Bouche and Simon, but Gabriel and Lance blew that love out of the water. I love a good redemption story, and getting down and dirty with Gabriel and what he’s been going through and the amount of effort he put into changing his life and becoming a better person was phenomenal. Watching Lance be there for him, support him and love him despite the challenges to their precarious situation was amazing. They were determined that no matter what happened, they were going to face it together and that’s exactly what they did.
I love this series and it’s secondary cast of characters and watching the series arc unfold while enjoying the couple of focus at the time! It’s a world I would love to live in and be friends with these guys.
I have fallen so hard for Gabriel and Lance that I’m not sure who can beat it, but as always, Brigham has a way of outdoing herself with each new release so maybe next up is newly divorced single dad Walsh and the mysterious figure skater :)
James Edward Jones didnt great job narrating this book, and while he’s definitely not my favorite narrator, he consistently does the story justice and I plan to continue listening to the other audios!
