Story
As a Korean adoptee, Hara Wilson doesn’t need anyone telling her she looks different from her white parents. She knows. Every time Hara looks in the mirror, she’s reminded that she doesn’t look like anyone else in her family - not her loving mother, Ellen; not her jerk of a father, Pat; and certainly not like Pat’s new wife and new “real” son.

I enjoyed learning the customs and a few words of Korean sprinkled throughout the book. Narration was good, the Korean pronunciation authentic, and the storyline was enjoyable. The author kept the ending open for a follow up book. I prefer books that have closure one way or another…That is why I gave the book only four stars.

Story
Intern with Korea’s number one record label? Yes, please. Find out there’s a huge scandal I need to help “manage”…not so much. Add in the fact that I don’t recognize the “superstars” of the label and think they’re interns. And my dream job quickly becomes more of a nightmare. But I’m in Seoul, the one place that is beginning to feel more and more like home. Except it isn’t home, and the drama surrounding the biggest K-pop group in the world, SWT, is consuming my every moment.

Fun story for K-pop fans

The female reader did a great job…The male reader’s usage of an accent when portraying a character was just plain irritating because it was not believable. Fortunately, the majority of the story did not include the accented character.

Meet Casey Han: a strong-willed, Queens-bred daughter of Korean immigrants immersed in a glamorous Manhattan lifestyle she can't afford. Casey is eager to make it on her own, away from the judgements of her parents' tight-knit community, but she soon finds that her Princeton economics degree isn't enough to rid her of ever-growing credit-card debt and a toxic boyfriend. When a chance encounter with an old friend lands her a new opportunity, she's determined to carve a space for herself in a glittering world of privilege, power, and wealth—but at what cost?

I very much enjoyed this story. It allowed me a peek into Korean culture, and what it’s like to be a Korean-American. The story held my attention throughout. Kudos to the Narrator Jennifer Sun Bell who executed a flawless performance. I have no hesitation in recommending this book to my friends.

Story
If there’s one thing you should know about me, other than that I swear a lot, it's that I believe in destiny. Which is why when the opportunity of my career gets within my reach, I not only know it’s meant to be, I feel like my entire life is about to change. And I don’t just mean my relocation to Seoul, aka K-Pop Central. You see, there’s this guy...I mean, isn’t there always?

I thoroughly enjoyed the story line, the character development, and thought the narrator did an excellent job. Having only recently become acquainted with Korean culture, I was fascinated by the glimpses into Korean life which were served up in this book. Of particular interest to me was the focus on the fictional K-pop boy band. If you’re looking for romance with a Korean backdrop, peppered with bits of humor, this book is for you.

Clark Griswold was onto something...at least with his annual holiday meltdown. And since the last three weeks of my life have been riddled with humbug—another breakup, a broken toe, an office promotion I deserved and didn’t get—I’m not at all in the mood to celebrate nor have the happ, happ, happiest Christmas EVER.

Full of fabulous and witty humor, this is a fun and light romance centered around family and Christmas. However, be warned that strong language flies faster than Rudolf in this story. Also, there is some graphic adult content. This book was a fun read.
