Story
It's been a year since Septimus Heap discovered his real family and true calling to be a wizard. As apprentice to Extra Ordinary Wizard Marcia Overstrand, he is learning the arts of Conjurations, Charms, and other Magyk, while Jenna is adapting to life as the princess and enjoying the castle. But there is something sinister at work. Marcia is constantly trailed by a menacing Darke Shadow, and Septimus's brother Simon seems bent on a revenge no one understands. Why is the Darke Magyk still lingering?

Excellent follow up!

This was my third listen to the series, and although it's a bit odd to hear a different narrator for this one, it only takes a couple of chapters to get used to him. He does a fantastic job with the voices, and I am glad he narrates the rest of the series. I'm listening to this with my 9-year old daughter, and she is captivated by the story. So glad we have this to share, and maybe soon she will be ready to read these on her own. The length of the books is a bit daunting for her to read, but I think by the next book she may want to grab a copy from the library so she doesn't have to wait for me!
