Story
In this intimate and open account—nothing like any rock-and-roll memoir you’ve ever read—Alex Van Halen shares his personal story of family, friendship, music and brotherly love in a remarkable tribute to his beloved brother and band mate. In his rough yet sweet voice, Alex recounts the brothers’ childhood, first in the Netherlands and then in working class Pasadena, California, with an itinerant musician father and a very proper Indonesian-born mother.

Story
People are hungry for hope. They want to understand our human condition—its origin, nature, purpose, and destiny. The Christian faith offers hope for individuals and the entire universe, grounded in absolute truth. But how can we know that Christianity is true? And how can Christians confidently present their beliefs in the face of doubts and competing views? In this comprehensive text, Douglas Groothuis makes a clear and rigorous case for Christian theism.

loved the book, after canceling audible membership. since censorship has become common place, it's much more accommodating for all to buy physical books. Prior to censorship by Google / Youtube ( more than Red China) audible was past tense a great platform.

Story
Totalitarianism is not a coincidence and does not form in a vacuum. It arises from a collective psychosis that has followed a predictable script throughout history. In The Psychology of Totalitarianism, world-renowned Professor of Clinical Psychology Mattias Desmet deconstructs the societal conditions that allow this collective psychosis to take hold. By looking at our current situation and identifying the phenomenon of “mass formation”—a type of collective hypnosis—he clearly illustrates how close we are to surrendering to totalitarian regimes.

This will be in my all time top ten books I ever listened to. This book places everything into perspective not only with government, society, religion and social classes. it's not a light superficial listen, it forces you to think and I enjoyed that about it. yes there a few dry areas that could have been sped up but i will be listening to again in the very near future.
I would sum this book as peeling an onion, there are many layers but well worth it, if you want to have your eyes opened stop hesitating and give it a listen.

Where does How Not to Die rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
This is the MUST have book, for everyone that has ever thought about the soaring number of deaths that have become to all common from cancer in the U.S.
I would recommend grabbing a pen and paper for note taking, or listen to a few chapters more than once, this book is crammed with facts and statistics
What other book might you compare How Not to Die to and why?
This is alot more in depth than the China Study and gives more details than the China Study.......both are great books but HNTD belongs in a class by its self, in my opinion this may the best book ever written that deals with the general American Diet
Have you listened to any of Michael Greger, MD’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Yes at times the narration can be a little bit of a challenge, but I kept going due to the information that was being provided.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Realizing that meat and sugar are killing us slowly. meat isn't meat anymore and milk isn't milk anymore.
Any additional comments?
I think the overall message of the book is the food that we eat everyday has consequences to our health, some of the results of the food we intake leads to sickness and disease, other food makes us fat and lazy

The bestselling fitness book for men who want to gain 25-35 pounds of lean muscle and lose as much fat or more in just 3-5 hours per week—and without giving up delicious foods or doing grueling workouts. Is Bigger Leaner Stronger a body building book that can help you pack on brain-shrinking amounts of muscle in 30 days flat? No. Is it a fitness nutrition book full of dubious diet and exercise “hacks” and “shortcuts” for melting belly fat faster than a roided hornet? Absolutely not.

Story
Michael Savage has been warning Americans for decades, and now it's here. In Government Zero: No Borders, No Language, No Culture, Savage sounds the alarm about how Progressives and radical Islamists are each unwittingly working toward similar ends: to destroy Western civilization and remake it in their own respective images. These two dark forces are transforming our once-free republic into a socialist, third world dictatorship ruled by Government Zero.

The Blue Print Unveiled
Reviewed: 11-10-15
What made the experience of listening to Government Zero the most enjoyable?
Finally having the blue print unveiled of government for the past 20 year, and realizing that its just history repeating its self, along with all of the gag orders on government employees.
Its all covered, and best of all of the "facts" are presented that get in the way of many liberals. You start to see the narrative being written and it all starts to make sense.
I challenge you to listen to this book and NOT look at our government as a control mechanism from everything from Confederate flags that Amazon, Audibles parent company refuses to sell "But not ISIS flags or Nazi flags", to birth control, to religion and all of the double standards.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Government Zero?
Seeing how the narrative has been written and there is NO one that dares to question it
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Two day book
Any additional comments?
Loved it! Cant wait for the next one

"Unvarnished. Funny. Leaving no stone unturned"...So say the publishers about this audiobook I've written. What I say is that this is the story of my life, told as clear as a Texas sky and in the same rhythm that I lived it. It's a story of restlessness and the purity of the moment and living right. Of my childhood in Abbott, Texas, to the Pacific Northwest, from Nashville to Hawaii, and all the way back again. Of selling vacuum cleaners and encyclopedias while hosting radio shows and writing song after song, hoping to strike gold.
