I’ve recommended this book to many people. I truly enjoyed it and liked the different approach to being immortal. It makes you think and also just enjoy the story telling. The narrator did wonderful job and was pleasing to listen to.

Story
Sara Marsala barely knows who she is anymore after the failure of her business and marriage. On top of that, her beloved great-aunt Rosie passes away, leaving Sara bereft with grief. But Aunt Rosie’s death also opens an escape from her life and a window into the past by way of a plane ticket to Sicily, a deed to a possibly valuable plot of land, and a bombshell family secret. Rosie believes Sara’s great-grandmother Serafina, the family matriarch who was left behind while her husband worked in America, didn’t die of illness as family lore has it . . . she was murdered.

Great setting with interesting story of women of bygone times in Sicily

I truly enjoyed this book. She did a good job with bouncing back and forth through two time periods and tying it all together. The setting was great and it was an another educational viewpoint on what women had to persevere through. The narrator was outstanding and a joy to listen to.

She will be married by thirty, done having kids by thirty-five, and move out to the New York City suburbs, all while climbing the professional ladder in the cutthroat art auction world. She’s an associate specialist at Sotheby’s now, but her boss has hinted at a promotion if she can close a deal with a high-profile client. She’s not engaged just yet, but she knows her boyfriend, Finn, a surgical resident, is about to propose on their romantic getaway to the Galápagos - days before her thirtieth birthday. Right on time.

What I thought started out as an easy fun listen ended up having a twist that left me daydreaming about the content. I truly enjoyed the book and the authors intentions regarding the pandemic. The narrator did a wonderful job. I enjoyed her voice throughout the book.

Story
In a world filled with powerful witches and wizards, Professor Marcus Orren is about as magical as your average brick, leading to a life of rampant cynicism, coupled with mild-to-moderate alcohol abuse. His latest theory, an academic rebuttal of a God named Tomas, stands so air-tight that the Universe itself is forced to agree, promptly erasing the actual Tomas straight from existence. Unfortunately for Marcus, there are hundreds of Gods roaming the heavens above, and nearly all are the type to hold a grudge.
