Story
After forming a coalition of human resistance against the enemy invasion, Dalinar Kholin and his Knights Radiant have spent a year fighting a protracted, brutal war. Neither side has gained an advantage, and the threat of a betrayal by Dalinar’s crafty ally Taravangian looms over every strategic move. Now, as new technological discoveries by Navani Kholin’s scholars begin to change the face of the war, the enemy prepares a bold and dangerous operation. The arms race that follows will challenge the very core of the Radiant ideals.

Started to get overly long and slow
Reviewed: 06-25-25
The first books were great, then it went the same way the Wheel of Time series went. Too many characters, spread out doing different and angsty things, at a slow pace. You rescued WOT at the end, I hope you rescue this series in the last one too.

I loved this new angle to the series. Julie is a full out, kick ass, mother. The new characters mingled with a few old ones perfectly.

Rambling and Whiny
Reviewed: 06-02-17
I read this after the hype from other women about it being about a brave woman surviving in a world of male domination and found it to be incredibly boring and not what I expected. The "Brave Heroine" was nothing but a whiny victim in a world dreamed up as half anti-male, half bondage fantasy. There was nothing inspiring or interesting and the writing rambled around, failing even to fully develop a coherent story. I guess my standards of female heroism it higher as well as my standard of story telling.

When he discovers that a prizewinning poodle has been abducted in Eugene, Oregon, he learns that it's part of a rash of hound abductions all over the Pacific Northwest. Since the police aren't too worried about dogs they assume have run away, Oberon knows it's up to him to track down those hounds and reunite them with their humans. For justice! And gravy!

Trapped between life and death, he learns that his friends are in serious trouble.
