About this listen

"Powerhouse narrating duo Michael Kramer and Kate Reading bring their outstanding skills to this stunning continuation of the Stormlight Archive series... This audiobook is truly a masterpiece of story and performance." (AudioFile Magazine, Earphones Award winner)

An instant number-one New York Times best seller and a USA Today and Indie best seller!

The Stormlight Archive saga continues in Rhythm of War, the eagerly awaited sequel to Brandon Sanderson's number-one New York Times best-selling Oathbringer, from an epic fantasy writer at the top of his game.

After forming a coalition of human resistance against the enemy invasion, Dalinar Kholin and his Knights Radiant have spent a year fighting a protracted, brutal war. Neither side has gained an advantage, and the threat of a betrayal by Dalinar’s crafty ally Taravangian looms over every strategic move.

Now, as new technological discoveries by Navani Kholin’s scholars begin to change the face of the war, the enemy prepares a bold and dangerous operation. The arms race that follows will challenge the very core of the Radiant ideals, and potentially reveal the secrets of the ancient tower that was once the heart of their strength.

At the same time that Kaladin Stormblessed must come to grips with his changing role within the Knights Radiant, his Windrunners face their own problem: As more and more deadly enemy Fused awaken to wage war, no more honorspren are willing to bond with humans to increase the number of Radiants. Adolin and Shallan must lead the coalition’s envoy to the honorspren stronghold of Lasting Integrity and either convince the spren to join the cause against the evil god Odium, or personally face the storm of failure.

I think this is one of the better Stormlight Archive books. I enjoyed this equally or maybe even a bit more than Words of Radiance which was my favorite prior to this one.

Best SA yet?

excellent continuation of the general story and even more so the expansion into the cosmere. The build up gets more interesting and the anticipation spren surrounding me can feel it as well.

one of the best audiobook series that I have ever listened to. the story was exceptional and the narrators are the best in the business. there are few books or even series that you could even compare to Rhythm of War and the Cosmere at large.

You need to read the book!

I eagerly paid for the pre-order at full price and day the pre-order was made public in December of 2019. so yeah I am very biased towards this author. I would highly recommend all of his works!!!!!

Audible needs to fix the chunks of repeated chapters though. it throws off the pace of the book very badly.

super positive biased reader

Once you've heard the Rhythm, you will remember that it has always been a part of you. And the rhythm goes like this..."Baby shark doo doo doo doo doo doo."

A chasmfiend and a cryptic walk into a bar...

Well this has been a journey. it was grueling at parts. And i will say that i loved it. having so many of my theories about the Cosmere proved right. And that of the stories plot. but damn that ending was like a slap in the spheres. Sanderson is truly the master of misdirection. While i did like the book! I prefer the fist three. but thats because those books are works of art. This ones seems to be more of a steppingstone to another story more important to the author.

Great story BUT!!!

Continuing on the Stormlight Archive story, Brandson Sanderson weaves an interesting story that goes beyond where I expected it and further builds out the Cosmere. The writing is fantastic, the voice performances by Kate and Michael Reading is on point as always, and the central drama and secondary characters all tella riviting political and ideological story.

Highly recommended for fans of fantasy and interesting world building/magic systems.

Another classic by Brandon Sanderson.

This book was a roller coaster of emotions for me. I love it and the characters feel so real to me. Kaladin has actually saved my life several times because everytime I've gotten to that clifts edge. I listen to the seen at the chasm. And I say to myself while crying. One more try. Thank you for creating stories that actually help people.

I've never cried so much while reading a book.

Kramer and Reading bring another astounding novel to life. Kramer had me in tears at one point, and I never cry from books. If you haven't started this series, it's time you did,

Emotional, powerful, thought provoking
