Story
Rob Henderson was born to a drug-addicted mother and a father he never met, ultimately shuttling between ten different foster homes in California. When he was adopted into a loving family, he hoped that life would finally be stable and safe. But divorce, tragedy, poverty, and violence marked his adolescent and teen years, propelling Henderson to join the military upon completing high school.

Incredible Story
Reviewed: 06-28-24
Rob Henderson’s story not only illuminates the shortcomings of the foster care system, but confirms what we already know about stable, loving two parent families. The author’s critique of the Ivy League is sure to hit a nerve with those who consider themselves woke, as he points out blatant hypocrisy. In an age where many feel that speaking the truth is risky, his insightful analysis is refreshing. I suspect we’ll hear a lot more from Ron Henderson and I look forward to it.
This book is essential for those who work in the CPS/Foster Care system. As an attorney. ad-litem for children in CPS care I can confirm the system is a complete disaster. This book at least frames the proper questions without the academic doublespeak.

Story
From 1337 to 1453 England repeatedly invaded France on the pretext that her kings had a right to the French throne. Though it was a small, poor country, England for most of those "100 years" won the battles, sacked the towns and castles, and dominated the war. Desmond Seward's critically acclaimed account of the Hundred Years War brings to life all of the intrigue, beauty, and royal to-the-death-fighting of that legendary century-long conflict.

Story
Ulysses S. Grant's life has typically been misunderstood. All too often he is caricatured as a chronic loser and an inept businessman or as the triumphant but brutal Union general of the Civil War. But these stereotypes don't come close to capturing him, as Chernow reveals in his masterful biography, the first to provide a complete understanding of the general and president whose fortunes rose and fell with dizzying speed and frequency.

Story
The left has corrupted the U.S. legal system. Wielding the law as a weapon, arrogant judges and lawless prosecutors are intimidating, silencing, and even imprisoning Americans who stand in the way of their radical agenda. Their "enemies list" even includes parents who dare to speak up for their children at school board meetings. In this shocking new book, Senator Ted Cruz takes listeners inside the justice system, showing how the wrong hands on the levers of power can strangle liberty, crush opposition, and wreck lives.

Interesting, informative and true. Senator Cruz lays out the recent history of corruption in our government that is now an epidemic. The facts presented are verifiable and should concern all of us. I couldn’t help but feel a sense of urgency as I listened. Now more than ever, I’m convinced that woke neo-Marxism is a cancer that must be addressed.

Coexisting but conflicting needs create self-sabotaging behaviors. This is why we resist efforts to change, often until they feel completely futile. But by extracting crucial insight from our most damaging habits, building emotional intelligence by better understanding our brains and bodies, releasing past experiences at a cellular level, and learning to act as our highest potential future selves, we can step out of our own way and into our potential.

It’s Worth a Listen

I suppose many of us who are interested in this genre are searching for answers, or at least guidance. I didn’t get any answers but the author did offer little pearls of wisdom, which although intuitive, were worth hearing nonetheless. The presentation reminded me of an Uber hippie college professor that everybody likes but is also a little kooky. I must admit the droning on about “white privilege” and social justice was a little tiresome, but overall I think I got something out of it.

I recently finished listening to his first book “Can’t Hurt Me.” As a 60 year old with no intention of running an ultramarathon I didn’t think it would be relevant. I was wrong as this is what I needed to hear. Mr. Goggins’ principles apply to all aspects of life.
I cynically thought “Never Finished” would be more of the same and would get board with redundancy. Again, I was wrong. if you’re looking for inspiration and motivation this book is for you. David Goggins is an exceptional human being and his books literally improved my life by changing my mindset.

For David Goggins, childhood was a nightmare--poverty, prejudice, and physical abuse colored his days and haunted his nights. But through self-discipline, mental toughness, and hard work, Goggins transformed himself from a depressed, overweight young man with no future into a US Armed Forces icon and one of the world's top endurance athletes. The only man in history to complete elite training as a Navy SEAL, Army Ranger, and Air Force tactical air controller, he went on to set records in numerous endurance events.

As a 60 year old man with no intention of running ultramarathons I can say Mr. Goggins’ story is inspiring, motivating, and eye-opening. Although the principles are common sense, it was helpful to hear them restated as they apply to all aspects of life. I thank him for his work.

Story
Radical liberals want to make America a better place, but their utopian social engineering leads, ironically, to greater human suffering. From Karl Marx to Barack Obama, Horowitz shows how the idealistic impulse to make the world a better place gives birth to the twin cultural pathologies of cynicism and nihilism and is the chief source of human suffering. A former liberal himself, Horowitz recounts his own brushes with radicalism and offers unparalleled insight into the disjointed ideology of liberal elites through case studies of well-known radial leftists, including Christopher Hitchens, feminist Bettina Aptheker, leftist academic Cornel West, and others.

David Horowitz, as a former Marxist, accurately sums up the radical left and the motivation of their anti-American/capitalist views. I have a tendency to drift off while listening to audio books, but this narrator held my attention throughout the entirety. I will look for more titles from Horowitz....
