Powerful Argument Against Socialism
Reviewed: 09-28-19
The author makes extremely reasonable facts about the actual application of socialism. The best part however is at the end of the book when they go to a socialist conference and question millennials about socialism and why they support it. The results where extremely interesting.
I definitely recommend this book. It was a great listen and was concise without a lot of hard to understand vocabulary. Though it was biased against socialism, it didn’t use ‘bad’ facts to prove its points.

Deeply Liberal Agenda
Reviewed: 03-12-18
Ok it was a good story but loads of left political ideology presented as facts. But I actually enjoyed it because it was a really good story. Demonized religion, multi national corporations, and paying for anything. (Socialist dream that everything is free.) It was dystopian but not horribly depressing. I see people jacking in to computers as not far fetched. Definitely worth listening to.

I almost did not purchase this audio book after reading negative reviews of the performance. However it was the only only volume 4 available.
It's not bad. I don't love some of the voices but I didn't find it annoying either.
The story was really good and if you are following the series you don't want to skip it.

The narrator had a clear and British voice that was well paced and suited to the material. The book itself was interesting as it continued the story fro the previous novel but from lieutenant Bush's perspective.

Story
One moment a man sits on a suburban hill, gazing curiously at the stars. The next, he is whirling through the firmament, and perhaps the most remarkable of all science fiction journeys has begun. Even Stapledon's other great work, 'Last and First Men' pales in ambition next to 'Star Maker' which presents nothing less than an entire imagined history of life in the universe, encompassing billions of years.

Would you consider the audio edition of How Great Science Fiction Works to be better than the print version?
The lecturer's voice was easy to listen to.
What was one of the most memorable moments of How Great Science Fiction Works?
His recommendation of The Starmaker, Olaf Stapledon was awesome. So was City and the Stars by Sir Arthur C Clark
Any additional comments?
I am an aspiring sci-fi writer I thought this would be a good course to take. The lecturer speaks of many great titles of sci-fi stories. I in turn ordered many of these audio books and enjoyed all but one of them. If you enjoy Science fiction and what a road map to the books to read, then take this course!
