Story
For years, rumors of the "Marsh Girl" have haunted Barkley Cove, a quiet town on the North Carolina coast. So in late 1969, when handsome Chase Andrews is found dead, the locals immediately suspect Kya Clark, the so-called Marsh Girl. But Kya is not what they say. Sensitive and intelligent, she has survived for years alone in the marsh that she calls home, finding friends in the gulls and lessons in the sand.

When Grace Saunders vowed to take her husband for better or worse, she meant every word. She and Jamie are solid, mutually supportive, and certain of their future together. And then, on a hiking trip for their 15th anniversary, an accident leaves Jamie in a coma, unable to move or communicate. I like to read “feel good” stories to escape stresses of life. This one was perfect. It’s not overly sappy or full of uncomfortable intimacy. I enjoyed reading the 3 different perspectives too.

A Jolly Good Treat

After enjoying so many of Dick Van Dyke’s movies, I thought it would be interesting to read about his life. It was comforting to hear his own cheerful voice reading to me. I would laugh and smile as I took solitary walks listening to his stories. There are many heartfelt moments included too. His constant energy inspired me. This book was the perfect antidote for being in isolation during this pandemic. All of Dick’s adventures lifted my spirits and put me in a good mood. He gives all of us hope because he never really gets old. He just keeps on keeping on. #goals Now I’m off tolook up more of all those movies and shows he mentioned in the book!
