Story
As she gears up for her sister’s destination wedding in Hawaii, the countdown is on for Gigi to find a date. Just someone to prove to her friends and family that she's ok, and to stop the pitying looks would be great! Of course she can’t wait to be bridesmaid for her sister, but it’s just not ideal that the best man is also her ex… especially when he is bringing his hot new reality star girlfriend! But when Gigi arrives at the hotel in Hawaii to find there has been a mix-up with her room, and she’s been upgraded to a suite, things start to look up.

Portia McIntosh does it again. A fun rom-com that keeps you guessing a little even while following some standard tropes. Entertaining, funny, and sweet all in a great setting. And the fantastic Karen Cass brings it all to life with her first rate narration.

An old favorite

I remember reading this book when I was around 12. Still a fun story, although dated in some ways.
The narration leaves a bit to be desired; it didn’t really capture the characters well. That is more of a personal preference and audiobook narration has improved a lot since 1998, when this was recorded.

Beth’s books are a great mix of romance and reality. She puts some tough situations that are often very relatable, alongside love. The result is a story that is as inspiring as it is entertaining.

Story
Why do only a few people get to say "I love my job?" It seems unfair that finding fulfillment at work is like winning a lottery; that only a few lucky ones get to feel valued by their organizations, to feel like they belong. Imagine a world where almost everyone wakes up inspired to go to work, feels trusted and valued during the day, then returns home feeling fulfilled. This is not a crazy, idealized notion. Today, in many successful organizations, great leaders are creating environments in which people naturally work together to do remarkable things.

Not impressed
Reviewed: 07-02-19
While there are some genuine nuggets of wisdom, the authors liberalism, one-sided approach, and continual delivery of only part of the facts dramatically diminished the value of the information. The lack of the need for personal accountability on the part of those being led fuels the attitude of blaming others.
Definitely disappointed in this book, especially given that I generally enjoy Sinek’s work.

Insightful points obscured by dogmatic approach
Reviewed: 03-09-16
While the contents were had some great theories in some respects, the fact that any dissenting thoughts are dismissed because they must not be enlightened enough smacked of religious dogma. Very similar to a clergyman saying if someone has doubts about a teaching they must not have enough faith. Faith, enlightenment- they should be subject to questioning.
