For Such A Time As This

This book is a gift from God to the hearts of His frenzied children. I felt it before the COVID virus, I had downloaded the pause app and toyed around with slowing down, stepping away from the screen, getting out doors...and then March 2nd happened in Washington State and for the next two weeks, managing a small medical office, my soul got derailed, consumed, frenzied, harried, scared!
A very close friend sent me a podcast where John Eldridge talked with Annie F Downs about the capacity our soul has to carry life at a 3 mile an hour pace, I wasn’t created to carry the weight of all the tragedy of the world!
I KNEW God had just sent me a life line, a prescription as to how to let the peace of God reign in my heart. I have listened to the audio book, I am incrementally adding the soul care ideas John so invitingly informs the reader of. What I appreciate is that the author discovered this way because Jesus revealed it to him personally as a need for himself and the way his soul was doing. JEsus lead John to slow down, step away from the screens and social media mind numbing habits that provide “relief but not restoration”
Do real things, in the real world, with real people and things, get outdoors, garden, take a long walks, NOT HURRYING!! Pause and ask for a greater union with God. My soul has joy when I do this.
I am still working because we are essential, and all the administrative staff is pausing together! When you read the book and download the Pause App you will also experience the reset revive for your soul. We have a lot to give over and my Gods capacity to carry it ALL is getting bigger and bigger.
This book is a kind offering our God has for us in this season of pause, rest and reset. I would recommend this book to everyone desiring the peace of God in their hearts and a deeper intimacy with God.
I am off to garden and start listening through the book again as I would like for God to weave this way into the fabric of how my soul thrives.

Story
The number one New York Times best-selling story about American Olympic triumph in Nazi Germany, the inspiration for the PBS documentary The Boys of '36, broadcast to coincide with the 2016 Summer Olympics and the 80th anniversary of the boys' gold medal race. Out of the depths of the Depression comes an irresistible story about beating the odds and finding hope in the most desperate of times - the improbable, intimate account of how nine working-class boys from the American West showed the world at the 1936 Olympics in Berlin what true grit really meant.

Story
First Corinthians contains many wonderful teachings from Paul to the young church. Second Corinthians is one of the most personal and intimate of all of Paul's epistles. The victory of Christ shines through both of Paul's letters to the Corinthians. It will change your life and enrich your faith to be all that God has destined you to be. The truth of 1 and 2 Corinthians must be released into the world! Listen to it and be transformed!

Story
It is believed that Matthew was the first apostle to write a gospel, possibly as early as 50 AD. He was a wealthy tax collector who profited greatly from his duty of representing Rome. And then one day, the Man from Galilee stood in front of him and said, "Come follow me."

Very helpful in learning what is healthy in a relationship and what is not. Additionally helpful in practically learning to place boundaries on oneself to remain in a healthy place. Living in freedom is worth the work.
