Story
In Search Of Black History with Bonnie Greer brings you face-to-face with the people you never knew existed. People whose stories tell us a different tale about who we all are. From the earliest glimmerings of modern humanity, up to the present day, Bonnie Greer uncovers the lives of people of African descent that don't fit with the accepted history of Western Civilisation we've traditionally been taught. From saints, to philosophers, to warrior women and king's heralds - these people's lives have been lost, hidden and distorted down the centuries. We've lost the full richness and complexity of our shared histories - it's time to fill in the gaps.

Unnecessary turn at the end

I really enjoyed some of the early stories from this piece helped tell. The research was clear and compelling... until the last 2/3 episodes. At that point it seemed like the series switched from Black History to LGBTQ advocacy and begging museums to return items to Africa. While those are worthy topics it seems to me like those should be handled in a separate series and the focus on Black History should have continued.

Where does The Green Ember rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
This is my top pick for listening to with the kids.
What other book might you compare The Green Ember to and why?
Similar to the Narnia series. Does a good job of bringing you into the "world of animals" while also being very human.
Which scene was your favorite?
When the veil begins to be pulled back and you start to understand who has the Green Ember and its significance.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
I loved it when PickIt redeems himself.
