Story
Technical Specialist Simon Brooks was no soldier. More suited for the academy than combat, his assignment to a rear echelon support squadron seemed a good fit. Everything changed when the Sleer attacked Earth’s newly salvaged spacecraft, UEF Ascension. In a flash, Brooks goes from fleeing a burning transport plane to piloting a broken mech and learning the habits of a fighter pilot from Lt. Sara Rosenski, the terror of Nightmare Squadron. But his rising star takes a hit when he learns to talk to the Sleer AI, Genukh...and suddenly the UEF doesn’t know whose side he’s on.

This book is the story of a young couple who meet at school and fall in love. She is a talented singer and he is a cruel and dark person. The story is in a time when clones keep people young forever but the clones are treated as non people.
This is supposed to be a teen/young adult book, but with the violence and sex it probably should have had more story line development to it as well. While the premise had potential it was held back in being fully developed.
The narration was the strongest part of the book.

This is three stories of a Federation Marshal and his adventures. It is true science fiction without any real "agenda" and of the old school. It involves Max learning that there are things and people beyond himself and learning to trust and love things other than humans.
The story line is great without any real attempt to push anything except a good story and entertainment. Enjoyed them a lot.
The narration was very good with many different characters being done well.

Story
Death and violence do not exist in Axiom. There is no strife, no war, no suffering. There is no hunger, no sadness, and no pain. Axiom is a place of perfection. But, at what cost? In Axiom, mankind has willingly submitted itself to one man - the Lord Protector - who controls the destiny of every human being. Emotions have become outlawed. Relationships are forbidden. Any sign of the disease is treated with hostility.

This book follows a number of characters as they interact within a society that does not allow feelings of any kind outside the work assigned to the person. It develops these people well and shows them as they begin to realize there is something missing from their lives.
The world in which they exist is supposed to be the perfect environment but turns out to be far from it.
The narrator was very good and did the multiple characters well.
