I'm so lost!!??
Reviewed: 03-25-20
Spoiler** But if Beth really met Nathan...BEFORE Alice had ever met him, how did Nathan use Alice's late husband's name?? I'm not seeing how that works? Am I missing something? I literally couldn't follow this book. I'm so lost. It bounces around so much that I started losing everyone and can't figure it out. I'm going to either return it or listen to it again to try to understand what the heck is going on. I feel like it's written really poorly.

Her friends tease that her boyfriend tally is nearing the triple digit mark, but she's a girl who knows just how to avoid any messy emotional entanglement. After all, she's had the example of her five-times-married mother to show her what not to do.So what, then, is it about Dexter that makes it so hard for her to follow her own rules?

It was just okay.

I started this book before and I remember now why I didn't finish it. I understand and can even relate to Remy as a person. I feel like I was a lot like her in high school, but I feel like her personality is almost too over exaggerated. I understand that the author wants to paint her as this character who has a past and been hurt before, but it seems like every few lines she is reiterating the fact that she is not a typical girl/romantic. I never write reviews but I feel like I can't finish this book with how annoyingly anti-relationship she is and how she keeps expressing it over and over. WE GET IT, you don't normally open up and love people, but here is a guy who you are falling for...tell more about that instead of how "tough" you are the whole time.

Story
Brian Johnson shares how the panic and anxiety of his early life - panic he’d thought he’d beaten - came back to haunt him. After experiencing debilitating anxiety attacks from the age of seven into his early adult years, Brian learned how worship ushered in the presence of God and pushed the panic away. But in the midst of his success, the ghost of his childhood anxiety returned, stronger than ever, and it pulled Brian into a downward spiral of chaos and darkness.

I loved that Brian read this book himself!
I loved the story and how it speaks of anxiety and depression. Brian put words to so many emotions that I and others have felt through anxiety and panic attacks. This is a timely word and brought so much healing and peace.
