Story
Popular blogger Cal Newport reveals the new key to achieving success and true meaning in professional life: the ability to master distraction. Many modern knowledge workers now spend most of their brain power battling distraction and interruption, whether because of the incessant pinging of devices, noisy open-plan offices or the difficulty of deciding what deserves their attention the most. When Cal Newport coined the term deep work on his popular blog, Study Hacks, in 2012, he found the concept quickly hit a nerve.

very happy I read it
Reviewed: 10-27-18
most readers will probably already have encountered a lot of the insights covered in this book in articles and podcasts. I m happy I didn't dismiss too fast. by thinking about this topic for the duration of the book, and hearing/reading the case made by the author in full, it did go through enough to make me question and change some of my habits.

dangerous advice
Reviewed: 11-25-17
check the review on Wikipedia before following the advice in this book. also, it s narrated by a woman and written by a man. It s a bit misleading as it makes it sound like the writer is a mother
