Story
Daniel Sykes is one of the country's most notorious serial killers. And Jacob Deaver is tasked with writing his biography. For the fledgling true-crime author, it is the opportunity of a lifetime; a guaranteed best seller. But not everyone is sold. Camille Grisham, the former FBI agent responsible for Sykes' capture, thought that the worst chapter of her life had finally been closed, until Deaver approaches her in a coffee shop with a most unwelcome proposition.

Too short, story just drops off
Reviewed: 10-04-18
This was the shortest book ever. I haven't been this disappointed in more than a couple dozen books. It was too short, had just gotten started when it suddenly just dropped off a cliff and ended. 10 chapters. The narrator was okay, but there were some dramatic moments when her voice made the character seem weak. Hoping to get my credit back. Sad.

Story
A killer is at work in the nation's capital, and he seems to like variety. His victims range from kindergarten students to senators - not even the President is safe. Alex Cross, hero of Along Came a Spider and Kiss the Girls, is awakened one night to confront the brutal murder of a little girl only blocks away from his house. With a single clue, a mysterious rhyme signed "Jack and Jill", the skilled and courageous Cross sets out to track the murderer.

Waste of time and money

What would have made Jack and Jill better?
This book was short and not very well written. The performance by Mr. Underwood was awful and darn-right unprofessional. The writing was sloppy and amateur-ish.
What was most disappointing about James Patterson’s story?
Alex Cross doesn't curse as much as he did in this book. Mr. Cross is much more intelligent and professional in other stories. This book felt unedited and rushed.
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Blair Underwood and John Rubinstein ?
No idea, but Blair Underwood's tense voice is laughable.
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
I still love Alex Cross.
Any additional comments?
This is the only Patterson book I haven't enjoyed.
