Story
In the world of A Song of Ice and Fire, the ice dragon was a creature of legend and fear, for no man had ever tamed one. When it flew overhead, it left in its wake desolate cold and frozen land. But Adara was not afraid. For Adara was a winter child, born during the worst freeze that anyone, even the Old Ones, could remember. Adara could not remember the first time she had seen the ice dragon. It seemed that it had always been in her life, glimpsed from afar as she played in the frigid snow long after the other children had fled the cold.

Great kid's book with a bittersweet ending
Reviewed: 01-03-19
Although this book is intended for kids, a fan of A Song of Ice and Fire could get some insight of how the ice and fire concept got developed on George RR Martin's mind. I really enjoyed the concept of the ice creatures that the author developed and how it contrasts to the warmth based life that we are used to on this world. I will try to get a hold of a printed copy in order to read it to my 8 year old.

Story
Centuries before the events of A Game of Thrones, House Targaryen - the only family of dragonlords to survive the Doom of Valyria - took up residence on Dragonstone. Fire & Blood begins their tale with the legendary Aegon the Conqueror, creator of the Iron Throne, and goes on to recount the generations of Targaryens who fought to hold that iconic seat, all the way up to the civil war that nearly tore their dynasty apart.

It's a supplemental reading!
Reviewed: 12-20-18
If you start reading this book expecting it to be a novel then you might not like it. This is more like a supplemental material to a Song of Ice and Fire. It's a very detailed description of the first 135 years, give or take, of the Targaryen dynasty. If you're a ASOIAF nerd like me then you are going to love all the details.
