Plausible plot

Great story and performance by narrator. The only thing I did not like was the excessive angst of some of the characters. For example how many times do we have to hear DEX lament all the humans he killed!!! People that read SF are critical thinkers. Excessive angst is “mind games” and therefore not welcome.
Regrettably I must conclude that a word count is required by the publisher. If the word count is too low, write some more story! With this criticism though, I would not hesitate to read more of their work.
Love and blessings to the authors.

Story
Find the missing. Fear the found. Three months have passed since the aliens' arrival, but little has changed in the skies. Motherships still hover, impervious to attack and communication. Spherical shuttles ferry about with unclear intentions. But the abductions of select humans have ended, and most of those taken have been returned - dazed, incoherent, and prophesying glory or doom, but home where they belong. Still, nine seemingly unconnected people remain missing.

This book was a great disappointment after book one. in my opinion book two was this endless series of angst, internal analysis, psychological mind games etc.
everything in it pretty much took place in the bunker. In excruciating detail it showed the stresses and strains that come amongst a group that is trapped in a bunker. There were some parts of the story where people were interacting with the bunker in different ways. But overall it was too much focus on Bunker life! I am seeking a refund on this book.

Story
Malcolm Gladwell, author of New York Times best sellers including Talking to Strangers and host of the podcast Revisionist History, uses original interviews, archival footage, and his trademark insight to weave together the stories of a Dutch genius and his homemade computer, a band of brothers in Central Alabama, a British psychopath, and pyromaniacal chemists at Harvard. As listeners hear these stories unfurl, Gladwell examines one of the greatest moral challenges in modern American history.

I was surprised that the author is also the narrator. He did an excellent job. This surprised me because many narrators are actually actors. The one point of contention I have is that the author appears to be something of an apologist for our attack on the Japanese homeland. if so, then I would like to remind all the readers of the rape of Nanking, the mass execution of British soldiers in Singapore, and, the enslavement of war prisoners and civilians all across the Pacific by the Japanese to build their military installations. And, let's not forget the comfort women. These were women in conquered countries who were forced into prostitution for the Japanese army. I would like to note that the Japanese have never apologized for their war atrocities. With that being said I am a great admirer of Japanese culture. the Japanese nation suffered greatly after their defeat from the war. So, as far as I'm concerned karma has been repaid. So it's time to put all of that behind us and proceed forward as they are now are good friends in the pacific.

Really enjoyed it but dismayed by the history of so many "monday morning quarterbacking" on the morality of dropping the bomb. Chris covered it and in a balanced way but he idiocy of some preferring the deaths of nearly a million US soldiers to the destruction of two cities of an enemy who bombed Pearl Harbor, performed the rape of Nanking, conducted the Death March of Baatan, and enslaved women in conquered countries to be comfort women. The Japanese warlords had no honor and their country got what it richly deserved.

The hero seemed to be a little prissy and one would think every crewman on the bridge had spinach for brains. The prissy hero with brains seem to be the greatest strategist in all of humanity!
Other books by B. V. seem to indicate a more mature style of writing. I am a fan of his work and will finish the series to see if his nature style of story telling emerged from from this project.
Thank you B.V. for your work!
