Story
Magic needs a spark. And Maggie’s powers are especially fickle. With no one to help her learn to control her magic, the life debt that she owes stretches eternally over her head, with no way to repay it. Until she meets Griffin, the king’s champion, infamous for hunting down the draignochs that plague their kingdom. Neither has any idea of the destiny that they both carry, or that their meeting will set off a chain of events that will alter every aspect of the life they know - and all of history thereafter.

Good but not worth paying for

Story was excellent and very well written. That is, until the end. This story had the makings of an epic adventure that could have done so much more. Listening, I kept checking to see if there were other books and this was a series because there was no way this could be finished in the little time left. Sadly, the ending happened. Very rushed, very much a let down after the wonder world building. Felt like the writers decided they were just done with it and slapped the very predictable ending on and called it day. Very disappointing. Would only recommend borrowing from a library or friend and don't waste your money. It leaves you wanting something you will not get....an engaging, thrilling ending with purpose.

Story
Freshly fired from her third job in a row, Bonnie St. James has lost her way. So when she and her best friend stumble upon a “help wanted” post to run a coffee shop in the Scottish Highlands, they apply on a whim. Who knows? Maybe traveling to a new place is just what she needs to figure out her next move. When the friends arrive in the tiny idyllic town of Corsekelly, they instantly fall for the gorgeous Highland landscape and friendly townspeople. But Bonnie finds a less-than-warm welcome in Rowan MacGregor, the rugged local handyman.

Great Listen - Amazing Story

Story was wonderful. Performance was pretty good. The only reason I cannot give it 5 starts is because of the male performance of the female characters. The male side was amazing! Of course, loved the accent but when performing any female part, at times it sounded more like a computer speaking while at others it was just very lackluster and monotone. It was a clear difference and was the only thing that spoiled the full emersion into the story. Also, as a personal opinion I would have loved a second part of the epilogue farther down the line to in the lives of the main characters. Would love to hear some crazy stuff that would most certainly occur.
