I enjoyed this book thoroughly, from beginning to end, always wondering what would happen next. I wasn’t disappointed with the results and I loved the whole thing. If you are looking for a nice easy read, I’d recommend this. There’s romance, drama, mystery. It’s a mixed bag, but but mixed together beautifully.

Good Story, but…

This book is worth reading, but there was a point in the story that I thought dear Lord is it over yet?! Then it got really interesting again after that. So I guess I’d say this book was just a bit too long.

I Loved It!

Unlike some of the reviewers here, I loved this book. I could barely go to sleep at night for wondering what would happen next. And I listened with my coffee in the mornings! So, judge for yourself and don’t let others dissuade you. To me, this is a really good book.
Now, is it perfect? No. I wasn’t thrilled with the ending, but it’s not my book, so I don’t get to choose! But overall, it kept me very entertained, and I really loved it. I hope to read more books by Michelle Richmond.

Story
The Butler family has had their share of trials - as sisters Althea, Viola, and Lillian can attest - but nothing prepared them for the literal trial that will upend their lives. Althea, the eldest sister and substitute matriarch, is a force to be reckoned with, and her younger sisters have alternately appreciated and chafed at her strong will. They are as stunned as the rest of the small community when she and her husband, Proctor, are arrested, and in a heartbeat, the family goes from one of the most respected in town to utter disgrace.

I didn’t enjoy this book and contemplated sending it back, but felt I’d already listened to too much of it, so I didn’t. The narration was great, but the story just didn’t hold my attention. I had to make myself finish it. It was just not my cup of tea.

Story
On an island off the coast of Ireland, guests gather to celebrate two people joining their lives together as one. The groom: handsome and charming, a rising television star. The bride: smart and ambitious, a magazine publisher. It’s a wedding for a magazine or for a celebrity: the designer dress, the remote location, the luxe party favors, the boutique whiskey. The cell phone service may be spotty and the waves may be rough, but every detail has been expertly planned and will be expertly executed.

I loved everything about this book, it’s a definite page turner. The characters are shown as they are known - from both sides of the guest list.
The actors all do a beautiful job portraying their characters. I didn’t find a loser in the lot.
It is entertaining right up to the very end. I highly recommend.

Miss Julia, a recently bereaved and newly wealthy widow, is only slightly bemused when one Hazel Marie Puckett appears at her door with a youngster in tow and unceremoniously announces that the child is the bastard son of Miss Julia's late husband. Suddenly, this longtime church member and pillar of her small Southern community finds herself in the center of an unseemly scandal - and the guardian of a wan nine-year-old whose mere presence turns her life upside down.

I'd listened to this book years ago, but didn't realize it until I was well imp it. Miss Julia is the merriest of widows after her controlling husband dies. But when his illegitimate son shows up, Miss Julia's world is turned upside down. A very clever book with likeable characters.
