"Reader [Barrie] Kreinik differentiates the sisters by giving Fern a crisp, detached tone (fitting with her character) and making Rose sound more emotional. Their Australian accents are charming.... Suspense builds as listeners search for the truth beneath the varying stories and plot twists. Fans of unreliable narrators will love this!" (Booklist)

Sally Hepworth, the author of The Mother-in-Law, delivers a knockout of a novel about the lies that bind two sisters in The Good Sister.

There's only been one time that Rose couldn't stop me from doing the wrong thing and that was a mistake that will haunt me for the rest of my life.

Fern Castle works in her local library. She has dinner with her twin sister, Rose, three nights a week. And she avoids crowds, bright lights, and loud noises as much as possible. Fern has a carefully structured life, and disrupting her routine can be...dangerous.

When Rose discovers that she cannot get pregnant, Fern sees her chance to pay her sister back for everything Rose has done for her. Fern can have a baby for Rose. She just needs to find a father. Simple.

Fern's mission will shake the foundations of the life she has carefully built for herself and stir up dark secrets from the past, in this quirky, rich, and shocking story of unexpected love.

Although this book starts out rather slow, it held my attention, and developed into an interesting and original storyline with good character development

What a quagmire of twists, turns, horrible tales of murder and lies!! This was a very good book that kept me listening constantly to see what came next!! The author made you sure of one story, then turned it all upside down so in the end you were never quite sure what to believe ! Excellent writing, narration, and story concept!! I enjoyed it although I’m still scratching my head about what “really” happened!

The Good Sister.

Let’s just say, I couldn’t stop listening until I got to the end! The character development was amazing. There is a point where I thought something was repetitive but it came together nicely at the end.

What a beautiful story, and twisted and dark at the same time! Absolutely worth the read/listen. You grow very connected to the character: Fern especially. Hard to express: cute, dark, humorous, and twisted all in one!

Absolutely loved it!

The story is fascinating but the storyteller? meh! she doesn't get the tone of different people very well. she just reads a book. I think it's great to perform it as it happens.

The story is fascinating but ...

Well done! Great performance for voice changes during the character development. Slightly predictable plot but a beautiful read. I loved the book references throughout as an added love for a reader.
