Story
“Sam, could you do me a favor?” Thus begins a story that has now become part of America's true-crime hall of fame. It is a gory, grotesque tale befitting a Stephen King novel. It is also a David and Goliath saga - the story of a young lawyer fresh from the public defender's office whose first client in private practice turns out to be the worst serial killer in our nation's history. This is a gripping true crime narrative that reenacts the gruesome killings and the famous trial that shocked a nation.

Well written and narrated. Amazing story that I wasn't fully aware of, but am now. It's hard to think if I would have found him guilty or 'insane'..... Because he was actually both!

Good but not as good

Firstly, it's a good book and worth a listen. I don't want to give too much away, but it was too predictable and similar to the first book. But, I'm still going to buy the next in the series.... Hoping for something a bit different because the characters are good and developing nicely.

In between filming the final episodes of Poirot, David Suchet spent over 200 hours in the recording studio to create the very first full-length audio version of the NIV Bible spoken by a single British actor.

Poorly organized. List of parts and chapters.

Where are the chapters? Frustrating.

Should have listened to others. Before I brought this book some other people mentioned it was hard to navigate. They were not wrong there. Navigating successfully from each Book and Chapter is almost impossible, as they are not named, just numbered which becomes extremely confusing. It also means it is near on impossible to go back to read something again, unless you bookmark it. I loved the narration, but unfortunately I would look for a different version. I'm hoping they've now rectified this problem, if they have, then the purchase is a must.

I do love a good serial killer novel. This didn't disappoint. The story captured me from start to me. I was very, very impressed with the authors writing style. Can't say any more, going to buy the next book in the series! Enjoy.

This is one of the best books I've ever read. A bit slow to start, but it has to set the scene. This will be buzzing round my head for years to come.
NB: If you are a parent or teacher, read it for yourself and then give this to your children to read! This is how we impact the lives of others.
