Long, drawn out and boring (SPOILER AT VERY BOTTOM)
Reviewed: 06-10-25
First of all Frieda, don't use the same narrator for any other books that you used for the Housemaid series. Her voice will forever remind me of the characters in that series and using her in another book was extremely distracting. She's also not the best. You have another narrator that you use a lot and her voice translates better to a variety of books.
Secondly, this story was so long and drawn out and boring. When I first purchased it, I had wished it was longer, until I started listening and then I was thankful it was a short story. However, after 30min I was wishing it would end.
The twist was so-so. I saw some reviewers were confused by the ending. They didn't understand the beeping. It's not confusing at all.
SPOILER ALERT:
She was never on deathrow. She was in the hospital on life support. They took her off. She died. Boring.
The end.

Such a great story. I really wanted more though. it ends very abruptly. It was still a beautiful story that unfolded little by little leaving me eager to know more.
The narration was horrible though. the Voice she gave for Ray was the worst. She said things so strangely that it took away from the story.

Darby Thorne is a college student stranded by a blizzard at a highway rest stop in the middle of nowhere. She’s on the way home to see her sick mother. She’ll have to spend the night in the rest stop with four complete strangers. Then she stumbles across a little girl locked inside one of their parked cars. There is no cell phone reception, no telephone, no way out because of the snow, and she doesn’t know which one of the other travelers is the kidnapper.

The narrator is slow and methodical and aweful. The voices are bad. I have no idea how people likes this narration.
The story is ridiculous and overly detailed and drawn out. The characters are just stupid and gassy. apparently people like fart humor. It's possible the author wrote this for a creative writing class and I'd guess passed with a C at best. I'm so utterly bored, I don't even care how it ends. this is a DNF for me! Wasted credit. Ugh.

This should never have been a series. It should have stopped with the first book. I don't understand the good reviews. Also the narrator sounds like she has cotton in your mouth or she needs to clear her throat. The story was so boring and drawn out. I put it on high speed just to get it over with.

A unique story with well developed characters that grow and change as the story goes on. The performance sounded a bit old and crackling at times, but the narrator did a good job giving each character their own voice. The ending was unexpected but fitting. It was hard to get into at first, but now that it's over I'm actually sad. I'm definitely going to read more from this author.

Story
Kim Clement has had many critics over the years, but the movers and shakers in the world are sitting up and taking notice of this out-of-the-box prophet. In his new book, Kim shares some of the amazing stories of accurate prophecies that God has been giving him. The personal words shared with individuals in his meetings are incredible enough, but the words he has been given on a national and even worldwide scale lift him into a realm not shared by many. His passion expressed here is to make it clear that anyone can hear and be the voice of God in the earth.

Amazing content. Narrator destroys it.

READ this book. The narrator mispronounces words, and places emphasis in weird places so that simple words like, "objective" sound hard to understand because he puts the emphasis on the "ob" instead of "ject" as would be normal in the English Language. the word then sounds like OB-jective so that "jective" has no emphasis and the Word sounds strange. How does a native speaking of English mess up such a simple word? This narrator mispronounced SO many words that it made an amazing book difficult to understand.

Too Long, Lots of profanity and blasphemy.
Reviewed: 04-10-24
Concept was different but story was way too long and drawn out. It was messy and all over the place. I just wanted it to be over. The audio performance was well done, so that kept me listening. The amount of profanity and blasphemy was also ridiculous and unnecessary and distracted from the story. The characters were all really unlikable too.
