About this listen

“You must be our new neighbors!” Mrs. Lowell gushes and waves across the picket fence. I clutch my daughter’s hand and smile back, but the second Mrs. Lowell sees my husband a strange expression crosses her face. In that moment I make a promise. We finally have a family home. My past is far, far behind us. And I’ll do anything to keep it that way…

I used to clean other people’s houses—now, I can’t believe this home is actually mine. The charming kitchen, the quiet cul-de-sac, the huge yard where my kids can play. My husband and I saved for years to give our children the life they deserve.

Even though I’m wary of our new neighbor Mrs. Lowell, when she invites us over for dinner it’s our chance to make friends. Her maid opens the door wearing a white apron, her hair in a tight bun. I know exactly what it’s like to be in her shoes. But her cold stare gives me chills…

The Lowells’ maid isn’t the only strange thing on our street. I’m sure I see a shadowy figure watching us. My husband leaves the house late at night. And when I meet a woman who lives across the way, her words chill me to the bone: Be careful of your neighbors.

Did I make a terrible mistake moving my family here?

I thought I’d left my darkest secrets behind. But could this quiet suburban street be the most dangerous place of all?

Frustrating until it’s worth it at the end

I was so frustrated until about past the half way point. I just wanted to know and nothing was happening but just like Frieda always does there are twists and turns and an amazing ending! The

Another banger from Freida!!

I think out of all of the Frieda McFadden books I’ve read there has only been 1 or two that I didn’t like. I love her books and how detailed and great they are. The story lines and the twists are always the ones that keep you on the edge of your seat and have you guessing the whole time you’re reading and this book was no exception. One minute I’m thinking one thing and then the next minute something completely different. Another great book from Freida!!!

Freida McFadden never disappoints!

Freida McFadden never disappoints! At times I wonder if book 3 of a series could be as good as the first one but with this author it always is! I’ve enjoyed all of her books and I was so glad she wrote more on Miley. I also have really enjoyed the narrator on audible. She really makes the stories come alive when listening.

Rough ride, good ending

Spoiler warning

Almost stopped listening multiple times, but I think that’s because the narrator was painfully slow. Also main character just seems so wimpy like I’m supposed to believe she killed someone? I didn’t realize this was part of a series though so maybe if I had read the others first it would’ve been more believable. Once I sped it up a bit and it got to like the last quarter of the book I got hooked, and the ending was great.

Disappointed

I LOVED the first two books! This story didn’t draw me in right away like the others. It was average and a little drawn out. The twists were obvious to me as well. Love the author and hope she’ll write more in this series.

WHY IS THIS GETTING GOOD REVIEWS

I am not a hater but this story left little to be desired. So many loose ends. Repeating “my husband” a gajillion times within this book made my head want to explode.

Twists and turns

I really enjoyed this last book to the series. Twists and turns keep you guessing and a great performance done by the narrators as well! I wish more were coming!

Less favorite of the 3

I wanted to love this book after the last one but I felt like there was too much added detail and characters that didn’t need to be there, it could have been better. Although it wasn’t my favorite, it still kept me reading till the end.
