Story
When It Falls, book 5: After their success against the Ascendants is used by the Vestibulum as a cover for the murder of their old enemies, Sean has discovered that the Vestis are far more ruthless and dangerous than the previous two councils he's fought. After 200 years of holding on to the leadership position among all of the councils, obviously the Vestibulum isn't going to give up anything to anyone. Stand on It, book 6: Once again, Sean's home has been attacked by one of the Councils, only this time they've committed what they hoped would be an overwhelming force.

But I would like for there to be more intimacy between the characters. These are succubus, also why did the author decide to say that these women who are intimate with this man and say that they are just friends?
Honestly, for me the gold standard will be audiobook Harold of Shalia. Please note how this author develops the relationship between characters.

Story
The exciting sequel to Good Intentions! Alex Carlisle has enough to deal with even on quiet days. Living with an angel and a succubus is no easy feat. One has divine responsibilities she can't explain, and the other tempts him toward a decadent lifestyle he's not sure he can manage. Add to that the stresses of college and trying to hold down a job, and it's lucky Alex can even keep his head on straight.

This author was high when writing book 2
Reviewed: 08-07-21
"Harold of Shalia" is a thousand times better. One review states that MC Alex becomes secondary. But what really PISSES ME OFF is all the character development found in the first book is thrown straight in the toilet.
The sex scenes are PG-13 not anything like the warning .
Bottom line it feels like the second book was written by a different person. But then the final chapter the author returns to the style of the first book.
(Bottom line save your money on book 2)

Camp One has one brutal rule: If you attempt to escape, you die - and three random prisoners die with you. Tom Thrush has resigned himself to dying by degrees, doing forced labor while he slowly starves. When he learns that a distant mesa holds a slim chance at freedom, he does nothing. The price of escape is too high. Then fever sweeps through the camp. Surrounded by armed guards and an unforgiving jungle, paralyzed by the threat of reprisals, Tom watches as the men he’s sworn to protect die one by one. If anyone is to survive, Tom will have to do the unthinkable. Escape.
