The delivery drops you right into the perspective of the curious, intelligent, and mischievous princess that is Farilane. We are brought on her tumultuous adventure of discovery where nothing is quite as simple as it seems.

The villain, the Hum Drum , really describes the tedium of thos book. The most unstreet wise urchin of a chosen one, who does absolutely nothing but blather about unimportant drama with little to no action, only telling how once a cool thing happened and at some future point something probably bad might happen... no suspense. no action. All the snooze.

Best M/M Romance writing I've read

I had had a hard time finding a good read until this gem... Characters feel well thought out, intimate, but does not feel like a reskin of a m/f relationship for once.
Beyond that the story is riveting, with interesting side characters and plot twists. also the characters share and have adult conversations so it doesn't feel like a rerun of an 80's high school drama like so many other fantasy books. they feel like real people with legitimate problems.

I only got the second book because at the end of the first there was potential for the hero to start growing a spine and making adult decisions. I was sorely disappointed. And every time the hero fails, rather than face consequences of poor decision making they flee, often aided by overpowered outside forces.

The story had potential, but was all narrative descriptions with no action. It features an interesting cast described outright and in the most bland way possible. The narrator reads with the soft coo of an exciting lullaby.
The ideas are interesting, but not enough to overcome the terrible, meandering descriptions.

interesting word creation, but it never really feels like there is a true threat of the hero failing anything after he gets his ring. The girls rarely interact with one another, except to discuss Ash's needs and interests. they could've had way more depth.
the voice acting was riveting and kept me engaged.

With a cliche plot and dry reading this series did little to catch the interest, never mind excite the reader. All but one of the relationships are manipulative and abusive, and none are of two equals. lastly the whole thing seems rushed and forced in a way that is painful to read.

It is beautiful and romantic is a way designed to melt your heart. There is a lot of info dumping, but most are handled well with interesting news feeds. Definitely worth the read through.

Constant Info dumps, with bland interactions. Most of the characters seem to speak with the same voice (feel), not helped by the narrator's only inflection being a switch to a New York accent. Also the protagonist is waaaaay too powerful for anything to really seem like more than a introspective moral challenge. And the romance leaves a lot to be desired.
