One of the most powerful testimonies I’ve ever heard/read!!

As a recovering alcoholic & having volunteered with abused kids for 7 years as part of my service work, I’ve seen & heard a lot. As heart wrenching as her story is, what stands out is her tenacity through it all, when most would give up!! This is more than a book…it’s a journey Skye herself takes you on by reading it to you herself. Thank you for persevering Skye, for your service to our nation, & for sharing this incredible testimony!!!! Numerous people will benefit!!!

Story
As human beings, we will inevitably go through a life-changing event at some point in our life. It could be losing a job of 20 years, finalizing a divorce, or leaving the military. These life-changing events can have disastrous effects on us and the people around us. Some of us never work through these events and end up unhappy and stuck in life. This happened to Nick when he left a 12-year career as a Marine Raider with the Marine Corps Special Operations Unit. For years, he was stuck with feelings of anger, indifference, and bitterness.

I am a civilian transitioning from a 15 month battle with breast cancer (I WON!!!!) into a new reality, which includes focusing on my passion, which is the veterans community. This book not only helped me gain perspective on my own journey, but is extremely enlightening on the perspective of veterans. As a volunteer, the #1 frustration I hear is that civilians don't understand. I cannot thank Nick & the contributors to this Audible production enough for the vulnerability necessary to share such precious insight. inspiration, & of course thank you for the FREEDOM to be able to do, read, wear et. what I want when I want to begin with!
