Excellent book

I so enjoyed this book! As a Christian with strong anti-abortion views, I tried to picture myself in a similar situation, especially since I am also named Anna. I could not have had an abortion, like Anna in the book, but might have lost many of my friends and even some relatives over that decision. I like to think my husband would have stayed by my side but, since I am now 75 years old and a widow, I'll never know. My child-bearing years are long ago and times were different back then.

Another Wonderful Jan Karon Mitford Book!

I love this book, as I’ve loved every book in the Mitford series. Because of my slightly impaired eyesight, I switched to audiobooks before A New Song (and purchased the earlier books in audio form), and I try to listen to all the books every year. This book does a good job of pulling together the entire series. Thank you, Jan Karon, for helping to bring me closer to God the Father and his son, Jesus Christ. I recite Fr. Tim’s Prayer often and have “turned my entire life over to Him.”

In the South, you always say “yes, ma’am” and “no, ma’am.” You know everybody’s business. Football is a lifestyle, not a pastime. Food — especially dessert — is almost a religious experience. And you protect your friends as fiercely as you protect your family — even if the threat is something you cannot see.

I bought this audiobook primarily because it was set in Pawley's Island, SC, near my hometown of Myrtle Beach. I came to love the story and characters. I cheered their successes and cried with them during their hard times. I recommend this book to anyone who loves stories set in the South and anyone who had seen or "experienced" the Gray Man or Alice Flagg (count me among the latter).

Another Excellent Murder, She Wrote Audiobook
Reviewed: 04-09-12
Would you listen to Murder, She Wrote: The Maine Mutiny again? Why?
I will certainly listen to this book again. I believe I own all of the Murder, She Wrote audiobooks and I enjoy listening to them every few months. The TV show was my favorite all the years it was on and I was thrilled to find out someone (Donald Bain) was writing books with that theme. Cynthia Darlow mimics Angela Lansbury's voice perfectly.
Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
Starting the story with a cliffhanger, with Jessica in danger, was an excellent plot ploy. The story never lagged.
Which character – as performed by Cynthia Darlow – was your favorite?
Of course, Jessica was my favorite character. But Doc Hazlett and the sheriff are always entertaining.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I would have enjoyed listening to the book in one sitting but, since I listen mostly when in my car, that wasn't possible. I did also listen while on my morning walks.
Any additional comments?
I am hoping that all the Murder, She Wrote books will come out on audiobooks. With my busy schedule, audiobooks allow me to
