The narrator was wonderful. I listened to this book twice and enjoyed her even more the second time around.

The plot was compelling, the characters were well developed. The insights into what a marriage the contains abuse looks like were spot on.

The narrator ruins it for me

I was distracted from the story line numerous times by the annoying voices she used. All the men sounded like they had a bad head cold.

The narrator’s voices were distracting. They were painfully snobbish and shrill
Reviewed: 05-21-23
I have enjoyed this series so far, but I do not think I can listen to another done by this narrator. The men sounded like females, the children like a squeaking hinge. All the voices were stuffy, snooty, and. shrill. I lost track of the plot numerous times because of the narrator’s performance. I have never left a bad review of a narrator but I had to speak up on this one.

Story
When Fiona Edwards first sees the lanky backpacker striding up the lane toward her award-winning farmhouse bed-and-breakfast in the remote mountains of North Wales, she's puzzled. She's used to unexpected strangers, but few arrive on foot. The man to whom she opens her door is middle-aged, unshaven, sweat-soaked…and arrestingly handsome. What neither of them knows at that moment is that their lives are about to change forever.

This was a wonderful book. Each character was carefully crafted and unpacked. I did not want it to end. I want book 2.
