As I approached the end of this book; I felt sad knowing that I wouldn’t be able to keep up with Claire and Jamey et al until another volume is written. I have become obsessed with this series, hardly being able to put my IPad down. The Audible series has allowed me to be thoroughly entertained and enthralled while still being able to perform my daily tasks around home, I await the next book.

Story
The year is 1771. Claire Randall is still an outlander, out of place and out of time. But now she is linked by love to her only anchor - Jamie Fraser. They have crossed oceans and centuries to build a life together in North Carolina. But tensions, both ancient and recent, threaten members of their clan. Knowing that his wife has the gift of prophecy, James must believe Claire, though he would prefer not to. Claire has shared a dreadful truth - there will, without a doubt, be a war.

Each book has held my interest to the last word. I marvel at the ability to make each character come to life, and also enjoy and admire the ability of the narrator to personalize each character’s voice. Can’t wait to”read” the next book.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The narrator did an excellent job with the characters. It kept me riveted to each section and I couldn’t put it down. I found myself carrying my iPad with me, even listening while preparing meals.

Left hanging
Reviewed: 05-05-10
I enjoyed listening to this book. I agree with the other reviewer that it was excellent but now I am left hanging to figure out what happens next. This book was written in 2005 -- when are the others coming. It is now 2010. Had I researched before buying, I probably wouldn't have purchased a volume 1 w/o news of when 2 would be available.
