Story
Ever wonder why giving anesthesia is described as hours of boredom with moments of panic? With gentle precision, anesthesiologist Wolf Pascoe teases apart an overlooked world and unveils the eggshell dance that takes place at the head of an operating table. Intrigued or spooked by what happens in an operating theatre? Breathing for Two is a seat on the stage, a short book that will change the way you think about life and breath.

Beautiful and touching

A beautiful and touching look into what it is like to hold someone's life in your hands as an anesthesiologist. Having recently bumped into one too many arrogant doctors who do not seem to question their own errors and who, instead, blame the patient, the humble stories of near fatal errors and their lessons by this anesthesiologist, who does take full responsibility and care of his patients, is enormously refreshing and life-affirming, giving me a renewed faith in doctors.

Story
Why can salamanders grow new legs, and young children grow new fingertips, but adult humans can't regenerate? What is the electricity that flows through the human body? Is it the same thing that the Chinese call Qi? If so, what does Chinese medicine know that Western medicine ignores? Dan Keown's highly accessible, witty, and original book shows how Western medicine validates the theories of Chinese medicine and how Chinese medicine explains the mysteries of the body that Western medicine largely ignores.

A great read. Too bad whisper-sync is not available. A highly enjoyable introduction to acupuncture and its relationship to Western medecine. I look forward to listening to it again.

It’s no wonder that The Power of Now has sold over 16 million copies worldwide and has been translated into over 30 foreign languages. Much more than simple principles and platitudes, the book takes readers on an inspiring spiritual journey to find their true and deepest self and reach the ultimate in personal growth and spirituality: the discovery of truth and light. In the first chapter, Tolle introduces listeners to enlightenment and its natural enemy, the mind.

A timeless classic worth every cent and every minute

My favorite audiobook by far! Simply timeless. I have listened to it again and again and I always learn something new. I have been an Audible member since 2010 and have enjoyed many great works. However, I have never written a review, only given star ratings. But this book is so exceptional and life altering that I have made an exception. I hope that everyone reads this book and discovers its beauty. You will listen to it again and again. A great investement.
