Story
Rediscover the Christmas story. These tales look at the real Christmas story by those who saw it. Four short stories look at the story of the birth of baby Jesus as seen by the donkey in the stable, the shepherds on a hillside, the star gazing down on the little town of Bethlehem, and the baby's mother, Mary. Based loosely on the Bible story about the arrival of the baby Jesus, these tales take a refreshing look at the nativity story at the heart of Christmas.

Four Precious Stories About the Birth of Jesus

Great Concept....

but there were some things I just didn’t like and wish the author had done differently. While I appreciate this being told at a child’s level, I didn’t like the use of slang during the shepherds’ story and Joseph being referred to as “Joe” during Mary’s story.

Story
Sophie works for the local florist, so she's part of every big event in her small hometown, delivering flowers and making sure things run smoothly (which they almost never do). This year, Sophie has tons of events to get through - including a wedding, a funeral, a Valentine's Day party, a Fourth of July cookout, Thanksgiving, and a New Year's Eve bash. And at each event, she runs into Andrew, the distractingly cute - and annoyingly pompous - guy working for the local caterer.

Fabulous literary novel? Nope. Fabulous, fun, entertaining, got-me-hooked read? Definitely! I enjoyed this one much more than Fame, Fate & First Kiss (I’m not into Zombies). Loved this one so much that when I couldn’t finish it on Scribd due to tech issues I immediately purchased it on Audible (my nieces have my hardcopy). Thank you Kasie for another great escape!

Story
At one time, Corrie ten Boom would have laughed at the idea that she had a story to tell. For the first 50 years of her life, nothing out of the ordinary ever happened to her. She was a spinster watchmaker living contentedly with her sister and their elderly father in the tiny house over their shop in Haarlem. Their uneventful days, as regulated as their own watches, revolved around their abiding love for one another. But with the Nazi invasion and occupation of Holland, everything changed....

I would give this book 10+ stars if I could. It is truly amazing and the narration makes it even more so. Although this book takes one through the atrocities of WWII I felt more uplifted after reading about Corrie and Betsy’s great faith. Their ability to look at their circumstances and find the good, to put their trust in God, and to ask Him to carry their heavy burdens was such an example to me. Their messsage of love and forgiveness is one that all should hear and I believe our world would be a better place if all would strive to love more and forgive.
