Story
Cal Kestis has built a new life for himself with the crew of the Stinger Mantis. Together, Cal’s crew has brought down bounty hunters, defeated Inquisitors, and even evaded Darth Vader himself. More important, Merrin, Cere, Greez, and faithful droid BD-1 are the closest thing Cal has had to a family since the fall of the Jedi Order. Even as the galaxy’s future grows more uncertain by the day, with each blow struck against the Empire the Mantis crew grows more daring.

Brutally Bad
Reviewed: 03-10-23
Poor story. Uninteresting characters. Very poorly written. Among the worst Star Wars books I have ever read. It just seems like they have really lost their way on these novels. Anybody younger on here who did not read the Timothy Zahn books‘ or the X-Wing series go read those please they were fantastic.

Story
The Bible is made up of 66 books that tell the magnificent story of God's redemptive work in Christ. In this new audio recording of the full Bible, that story comes alive in a fresh way through the voice of award-winning modern hymn writer Kristyn Getty. From Genesis to Revelation, this word-for-word reading of the ESV Bible text is a great way to encounter God's word and the story of salvation.

Cute Easter Bunny story!

When my two kids and I have time at night, together we listen to The Color Fairies. "How the Easter Bunny Got His Job" is a wholesome book with a unique twist on the Easter Bunny and explains the Christian significance of Easter along with other symbols that evolved over time, We are very fond of the narrator's voice too.

We love getting to know all the different fairies in this series. This is a sweet book where two fairies do not listen to sound advice and become lost and scared. A good, non-threatening way to teach natural consequences to young children.

I think they were going for a continuation of the excellent X wing series from years ago. Unfortunately this is not live up to that legacy. Very dry dragging story. Lots and lots of boring introspective discussion. Just not an entertaining novel.

My daughters and I enjoyed reading this book. We purchased the hardcopy to follow along while the audiobook played the story. We enjoyed the pictures which were simple but sweet – including the map at the beginning of the book. We especially enjoyed the narration and how the reader used many different voices to portray the various characters.

Our second "Colour Fairies" experience
Reviewed: 04-12-19
My girls and I just finish listening and reading along (we purchased a hardcopy of the book separately to enjoy the map and pictures) with "The Spring Ball." It was another delightful experience. We were glad to have read the prior book (#10) in this series as some of the characters return and are not explained. The storyline is again sweet and educational (explaining new concepts like a phoenix or the equinox. Throughout the book and then again in a list at the end of the book, the listener is asked questions or prompted to write their own continuation story to become eligible for a prize! This made the book extra exciting for my 8 and 9 year olds. We are also very fond of the reader's voice- or should I say MANY voices. She is talented in her ability to give each speaking character a unique voice; for example, she made the young adult fawn sound like a goat and this fawn's father had the same quivering voice except with a deeper pitch. It is amazing how many voices she jumps between including her narrating voice.

Story
“I have sensed a disturbance in the Force.” Ominous words under any circumstances, but all the more so when uttered by Emperor Palpatine. On Batuu, at the edges of the Unknown Regions, a threat to the Empire is taking root - its existence little more than a glimmer, its consequences as yet unknowable. But it is troubling enough to the Imperial leader to warrant investigation by his most powerful agents: ruthless enforcer Lord Darth Vader and brilliant strategist Grand Admiral Thrawn.

Zahn’s Books Superior to Movies
Reviewed: 09-04-18
I have been reading all of Zahn’s Star Wars books since the Heir to the Empire series came out in the early 1990s. The universe created in these books has so much more depth and makes so much more sense than the garbage put out in the prequel movies and this latest disaster Disney has created. This is probably not my very favorite of his books but is a very interesting read as it revolves around the relationship between Aniken skywalker and Darth Vader with Thrawn. It Is interesting the way the book weaves the story lines from the clone wars in the empire. Well worth the read for any Star Wars fan.

Worst Star Wars Novel Ever
Reviewed: 07-04-18
I have read the vast majority of the Star Wars books over the last 45 years. this is among the worst. I really wanted to like it but it is boring, uncreative, and poorly written. Do yourself a favor and skip this one. I think it is time to depart the sinking ship that is Star Wars. I will stick with the older stuff from before the dark age brought about with the rise of the true evil empire-disney.

Story
The devastation of Pearl Harbor and the American victory at Midway were prelude to a greater challenge: rolling back the vast Japanese Pacific empire island by island. This masterful history encompasses the heart of the Pacific War - the period between mid-1942 and mid-1944 - when parallel Allied counteroffensives north and south of the equator washed over Japan's far-flung island empire like a "conquering tide", concluding with Japan's irreversible strategic defeat in the Marianas.

Great history
Reviewed: 03-12-18
This is a very comprehensive history of the Pacific war 1942 to 1944. It includes chapters on the homefront in America Australia and Japan as well. It is a very in-depth telling of the Pacific war. In my opinion at times it meanders away from the actual battles more than I would like but that is my personal preference.
