Story
Jason wakes in the most unpleasant of circumstances, in a body not his own and in a world most certainly unfamiliar. The finery and splendor of the Grand Imperial Prince Magnus Torvon Thull Heir Apparent to the Thull empire is a world of gold and silver beset upon fine black and white marble. The women of this Grand Prince’s empire clamor for his attention amongst the parties, drugs, and (not-so-great minstrel music). Jason will have to fix the decrepit state Magnus’s body has sunken into from a life of decadent pleasures. While figuring out what the heck is going on.

Author needs to move away from adjectives to verbs. Torture moving from one scene to the next. Like listening to a four page on going sentence in a dissertation, without a point.

Story
Growing up, she was the girl down the street. Even then, I knew she was different. She was tough, rough, and had the strength to stop a speeding car with her bare hands. We were as thick as thieves, sharing every adventure. Then one day she revealed a secret. She wasn't from Earth. She was from a distant place called the Arcadia Multiverse. Her people lived under the rule of a god-like entity known as the System. That System had its gaze fixed on Earth. And it was only a matter of time before it came for us.

Anticlimatic
Reviewed: 01-30-25
The skill of the author is awesome, imaginative, and hilarious.
The main character develops into some left coast feminazi ideal, altruistic in a toxic feminine way.
The scene with Beth is a huge disappointment and anticlimactic, given the tension built throughout the series.
Yuki it seems is the character with the most depth, simply complicated.
The series is great for the humor and giving the characters depth.

Story
Arimnestos of Plataea is a man who has seen and done things that most men only dream about. Sold into slavery as a boy, he fought his way to freedom - and then to everlasting fame: standing alongside the Athenians at the Battle of Marathon where the Greeks crushed the invading Persians. Sometimes, however, a man's greatest triumph is followed by his greatest sorrow. Returning to his farm, Arimnestos finds that his wife, Euphoria, has died in childbirth, and in an instant his laurels turn to dust. But the gods are not finished with Arimnestos yet.

The twist
Reviewed: 04-25-24
I usually disapprove of an author of historical fiction weaving some sorta eisogesis into the tale. I prefer to evaluate a character(s) in their time and culture, which, obviously, would differ drastically from my own time and place in the world's story. I can't stand it when someone tries to overlay current ethos upon those who were there.
I wasn't there in that moment, in that culture, knowing only what they knew, boots on ground.
Cameron does insinuate his biases, but neatly so.
I appreciate that it's neither subtle nor blatant.
Just a "there it is, let the chips fall where they may"
