This is the best story I’ve heard in a long time. I felt like the characters were very real people. The dialog and emotions were so true to life. Great reading by the narrator. She did a good job with all the voices.

I like these stories of historical fiction. I love this narrator with a soothing voice and good at doing different accents. The stories of faith are inspiring. BUT, these stories are just physically brutal. The characters are absolutely tortured and it is described how much they suffer agonizing pain and horrific injuries. Bear attacks. Getting shot in the stomach. Terrible lung disease where the guy can hardly breathe, animal attacks, etc. It goes on throughout the whole book, listening to them suffering and the emotional and mental pain their loved ones suffer caring for them and worrying about them. Why do these stories have to be so brutal?

This book was not what I thought it was... it was far better. Should be required listening/reading. What a labor of love to find out who a veteran was in an old black and white photo, a man who held the key to the author’s father’s demons. Thanks for sharing the still-under researched and unrecognized horrors of PTSD, our POW/MIA, and horrible red tape of the VA and other government entities.

This was an wonderful fairly tale, where a princess goes "undercover", not by her own choice but for her safety. She learns a lot about life that she never knew outside the castle. The adventures are creative, dialog is upbeat and witty, and at times, quite heartfelt. There is lots of adventure, calamity, and redemption throughout for many of the characters. It would be wonderful book to read to your daughter, or older girls to read for themselves.

When you have someone as legendary as Johnny Cash, you’re bound to have tall tales and stories that abound regarding his life and career. This book masterfully tells A great story. This book tells the story of a character many may not have ever heard about, and searches the depth of what makes a man act good or bad. It is a story that contrasts those who seek redemption, give redemption, and reject redemption.
