Story
A weak Cthonian boy forges a bloody destiny among the stars. Tribal warriors hunt a beast in the Fenrisian snows. Prosperine sorcerers seek hidden secrets. The Emperor's Praetorian shows his ruthless side. Alpharius submits to questioning over a brutal campaign, and Mortarion returns to Terra for the first time since his ascension to daemonhood. Each of these six tales provides you with a new look at one of the primarchs, the demigod sons of the Emperor. Once brothers-in-arms, these legendary heroes fell into war and strife, loyalist and traitor.

Another excellent anthology for the Heresy
Reviewed: 08-23-24
I keep wondering when the BL writers will run out of ideas for Horus Heresy novels and short stories. Every time a new anthology drops, I wonder if this will be it… the point where the heresy as a whole has jumped the shark. I am glad to report that Blood of the Emperor is not yet the bottom of the barrel. These are good stories, to be sure. Perhaps not the most expansive in scope, but interesting little pieces that fill in unexplored corners of the Heresy now that the main storyline has been completed. Mr. Tester is an excellent addition to the BL stable of voice talent. I look forward to seeing more narration from him in the future. This title is definitely worth your time and money if, like me, you can’t get enough of the Heresy. Enjoy!

Awesome Origin Story

I loved exploring Lorgar’s arrival on Colchis and learning how Kor Phaeron has laid the seeds for the Heresy ages before anyone suspected...
